"Yes we should." Syd answered, "The sooner the better at least."
"I have a bad feeling about this." Mani said in little more than a whisper.
But before she knew it half an hour had passed and everyone was headed out the door down the pathway to their journey. Mani trailed in teh back with Dion.
"going to be okay?" they asked in unison.
"I will be." Dion smiled his reply.
"I think I will be too." Mani answered, "But who knows? I just...I don't know anymore Dion. Thank you for agreeing to come."
"I'm sure my help is more needed with you than at the house."

After walking for a little over twenty minutes, the gates of Sugary Kingdom where finally being left behind, but the forest surrounding the kingdom stood in their path. It would take a while to get through the forest and beyond.
A frightened rabbit jumped through some bushes and ran into Silpphire in it's haste. "Bunny!" She squealed with joy and picked it up before it got away, "relax no one will hurt you." An arrow zoomed over her head and hit a tree. She was lucky to be bend over picking up the rabbit when it happened.
"Who did that!?" Pyromage drew his sword, remembered how pitiful the burnt sword looked and quickly put it away before the one responsible for the arrow arrived.
"Don't get scared so easily, I didn't know there were more people here, I was hunting the... Silpphire?!" The young archer stared at her in surprise.
"I'm not afraid of you and you're hunting Silpphire?" Pyromage formed flames in his hands. "As a future knight of Sugary I can't allow that!"
"Don't make a forest fire Pyro, he's just surprised to see me..." And she was surprised to see him too. Darum, archer, hunter, jerk, chosen by Silpphire's family to be her fiancée, the reason she ran away.

Armana seemed unaffected by the arrow flying about their heads, but she could feel Syd's temper coming. In fact, Dion felt it too, but his was more knowing how Sydra reacted to people in general. Sydra grabbed Pyro's wrist and shook his head.
"Not knowing is no excuse." Syd growled to the archer, "What kind of hunter are you?" He ignored Pyro's comment of hunting Silpphire.
Armana giggled at the conversation and couldn't help but let it escape her lungs. "We're all so uptight," she mused. She did a quick scan on Silpphire, she found something - that the young man was not well liked but she did not know why.

"Sydra... Armana..." Pyromage whinnied. "Should I do something..." though maybe using fire in a forest really wasn't the best idea.
"Well I didn't expect more people here. You should stick to the path if you want stuff like this happening," Darum didn't really sound sorry at all, it was more as if he blamed the other. "I see you caught my prey Silpphire, be a good girl and give it to me then go home. I'll forgive you if you do."
Silpphire set the rabbit free, and let it run away and hide. "When I'm queen, I'm going to make sure you're not allowed in Sugary territory. What are you doing here anyway?"
"Queen? You're not even a grown woman, keep up that fantasy Silpphire and when you're ready to grow up go home." Duram paid little attention to the other members of the group and walked away.
Silpphire had a feeling this wouldn't be the end of it. "He'll probably tell everyone where I am, but I'm not going back."
"Who was he anyway?" Pyromage asked.
"Darum, an idiot who thinks he's the greatest thing ever," Silpphire started walking further into the forest, "let's go everyone, no need to stand around." She wanted to put some distance between them and Darum.

The thought of going back and killing the child stuck hard and would not leave Sydra's mind. Then again they could invite him to come along and he might die along the way. He heard Silpphire speak and had to agree he was an idiot.
"Oh use the path," Syd mocked, "Hpmh, I cannot stand children."
Mani looked at him blankly, she had assumed he and Sydra were around the same age. She looked back for a moment and continued on with the group. "Don't you think he'll follow us? I mean, Syd doesn't look to friendly. For all anyone knows!" she paused, "Pyro and Syd could be kidnappers stealing Silpphire and I away and, Dion of course, is part of their ragtag group." She gave a nod, "At least, that's how it would look to me."

Silpphire giggled at Armana's interpretation. "He's probably too much of a coward to try to 'rescue us' without reinforcements..." Silpphire made quotation marks with her fingers. She would pick real kidnappers over Darum any day. But she knew Darum was mostly just talk.
"Do we really look like kidnappers? That's so unknightly and knights need to look cool," Pyromage still had an interesting order of priorities in the way of becoming a knight, with looking cool right on top of the list.
Plushie sniffed around a little and howled. He pointed with his paw, indicating where the scent came from, which was the general direction Darum left in.
"Did he get more help already?" Silpphire wondered.

Sydra growled. He looked at Plushie and then he transformed into a wolf. He looked at Armana and seemed to urge her forward.
"He says we should go ahead." She replied, "I think it's a good idea. Dion." "I'll stay with the hound." he smiled, "I may be aged but I'm still a good fighter. Sir Pyro you should lead the ladies to safety, there may be a battle and one duty of a good knight is to make sure that damsels are safe."
Armana grabbed Silpphire's hand, "That aside it's best not to let them find us just in case."

Plushie looked at Sydra curiously. He had seen him shape shift before but never into one of his own kind.
Pyro's eyes were shiny with excitement. "A knight mission!"
"Everyone will be okay, right?" Silpphire nodded.
"Come dear ladies, Sir Pyromage will protect you," Pyro spoke in what he considered a knightly tone and led them away.
Silpphire giggled, "and we'll take good care of our little knight."
xoxox xox xoxox
"Is that clear? Take the girl back, preferably unharmed, do what you will wish the others, that other woman might have been kidnapped, try not to harm her, we might get a reward from returning her home. Watch out for the red head, he uses fire and has no control over it, if he get too clumsy the forest will go up in flames. Their group isn't too far, let's go!" Darum and a group men, most of them archers, and a few who looked like thieves ventured deeper into the forest.

Armana walked ahead with Pyro and Silpphire, "The guys will be okay and Syd's pretty quick so they'll catch up. We need to get out as far as possible."
She looked back but could not see Syd or Dion and she hoped they'd be okay.
-=-=- Sydra looked similar to Plushie but his fur was jet black in aspect to his original hair color. He looked demonic, unnatural, and very dangerous. Perhaps he was Death's dog. Or at least that was what Dion was musing.
Sydra sniffed the air about them and gave a loud howl. He hadn't fought as a wolf in quite some time, but something told him that they'd be alright in the end. Afterall, when you can shapeshift into anything you've seen before you're almost invincible. And when you are as well traveled as Sydra, he could very well turn into Nenshib and have them all thrown into the dungeon. Which may not be a bad idea if the battle took a turn for the worse.

"Little knight?" Pyro made a pouty face. "I'm a very knigthly knight and I'll protect you both from anything."
"Including bandits?" A voice called from up a tree.
"Yes including ban..." wait, trees don't talk... Pyro looked up at the tree branches were the bandits hid.
"That's right... there are a lot of bandits in the area near Sugary because they say one of Bandit O's hideouts is around here," even after her own run in with thieves some time ago, Silpphire was so excited about the trip she forgot about it.
"No problem, I'll protect you from the bandits!" Fire would be a bad idea because of the risk of setting the forest on fire, lightning could work, it tended to be more direct than fire but it could cause a fire if he missed the target, plus it consumed a lot of energy. There was his sword, but it was mess. He pause and thought of the situation while trying to look knigthly. "Right..." He drew the burnt, blunt sword, it was better than nothing even if he wasn't exactly an expert with it.
xoxox xox xoxox
Plushie howled as well, though he was usually as harmless as a puppy, he could fight when it was needed.
"Howls... There was a wolf with their group, they're this way!" Darum and his group advanced, there were about a dozen men total. They caught up to Dion, Sydra and Plushie, arrows ready. "What the... there's two wolves?" and one of them didn't even look like a normal wolf, and three of them, including Silpphire were missing.

"Great" Armana mumbled, she was no warrior and she did not want to have to use her Psychic power anytime soon. but if she really, really had to she could be very troublesome. "You should leave," Armana instructed. "I'd really rather not hurt you."
She had been working on using her psychic abilities to somehow confuse people and if need be hurt them, but she really didn't like that idea.
-=-=-=-=- Upon spotting the group Sydra attacked immediately. He jumped right between several men almost like he thought like a man despite that he was a wolf.
Dion lifted up the cane and pulled it apart, it was a thin sword. "Well then, I don't want to kill you; but we do what we must." Arrows were nothing to Dion, despite being an old man he was quick. In fact his secret was to just move.
Sydra on the other hand snatched one out of the air and let it drop from his mouth.

The bandits started jumping down from the trees. "Bandit O said to always get stronger from every battle, and sent us after your little group."
"Don't know what' so special about them," another bandit commented.
"Who cares," another said, "let's just get rid of them."
"Hey!" Pyromage tried to get their attention. "Don't you dare ignored me evil people, I'm a knight and I..." One of the bandits using a sword as his weapon hit Pyromage's messed up sword so hard with his sharp one, that it broke apart. "That was a collector's item!" Pyromage used his fire on the bandit's sword causing it to melt, at least it made them take the group more seriously.
"Watch the fire Pyro," Silpphire kept the attackers at a distance with her energy shield abilities, defense was her specialty.
"They started it!" The journey was only started and his sword was already broken, it wasn't it good conditions when the trip began, but at least it was in one piece.
xoxox xox xoxox
Plushie attacked the enemies, avoiding their arrows. Somehow it was easier than avoiding fireballs when Pyromage had a nightmare and started randomly shooting them everywhere. Luckily he had been sleeping well lately.
Darum stepped back from the battle, searching for Silpphire but didn't see her. He attempted to sneak away but it appeared to be impossible with flying arrows everywhere and a true battle.

Dion paused as though he heard that Armana had screamed out in irritation. He looked to the wolves and assumed the could handle themselves before falling back into the forest. He was quick for being old and as a badn'ts blade came for Armana's head she heard the clash of metal.
"Dion!"
"I did say I'd stay with the hound, but he's more adept at battle than you." he spoke, and he continued to put his blade into flesh as bandits got close. Otherwise he just hit them out of the way with the other half of his cane. He didn't want them dead. Blood would aggravate Sydra.
Sydra on the other hand stood in front of Darum, he gave a low growl and his red eyes seemed to dare him to move.

Silpphire appeared to be busier trying to stop Pyromage from burning down the forest then she was doing anything about the bandits. "Silpphire! I have to do something my sword broke and this is all I have to fight with now."
"Idiot you'll fry us all! Fine do whatever you want I'll just put an energy shield around myself and you'll get cooked alone."
"I'll do just fine," letting him go might not have been the best idea. Sure Pyro was able to fight the bandits with fire but it wasn't too long before a tree caught it.
Silpphire glared. "I told you this would happen, Nenshib would have been far more careful."
"Nenshib doesn't use fire... maybe fire users aren't meant to be knights... they always said I would end up as a followed of the witch being so destructive... Dion-san what do I do?"
"Don't sit around sulking that's for sure." This wasn't how Silpphire imagined the journey. It had just gotten started and it was already falling apart.
xoxox xox xoxox
Plushie focused on Darum's men and let Sydra go after the leader.
Darum stepped back looking at the strange wolf tha appeared to come right out of the underworld. "Accursed creature!" He reached for an arrow but dropped it, he had never seen a creature like that. Finally he pulled out a silver arrow and battled with the bow to get it steady and shoot the demon wolf.

Dion tossed his cane sheath to the boy, "If you worry you dull your battle sense. You have priorities, Pyro, make them known. Right now you concern should not be how knightly you are, but how to protect these ladies." While a lecture Dion was very kind in his words being as tactful as possible. He smacked a bandit with the hilt of his blade, "Remember, one key part to being a knight is having something or someone to protect."
Dion put the fire out with some water he had in a canteen that was stashed somewhere in his robes. He was always prepared it seemed.
-=-=-=-=-=- The smell of silver traveled to his nose. It proved to only aggravate him further. His warning growls became almost murderous know. He lunged for Darum and missed the first time as he only wished to scare him.
He circled the archer now as if to say "I won't miss again."

Pyro caught the sheath and listened to Dion. "To protect... right that's how it should be." He nodded in realization and faced the bandits again hitting them with the sheath.
xoxox xox xoxox
Darum's first silver arrow missed flying past Sydra when he lunged for him. The arrow reached one of Darum's allies, one of the few who had not yet ran away. Darum cursed loudly and reaches around his quiver for another silver arrow.

Dion was pleased to see that Pyro should understand so quickly. He thought back to Sydra for a moment and hoped he would be okay. Sure he didn't need to worry, but he did anyways. "We need to make this quick." Dion spoke sternly.
"We need to get out of here." Armana hiccuped. She looked at Silpphire and then at Dion, "I've got an idea, but you need to get everyone here now." She closed her eyes and started to imagine a clear opening out of the forest. She hadn't teleported a large group in a long time, but if she oculd concentrate hard enough she could get just their group out.
"Stick close!" Dion spoke, though it sounded a lot like an order.
-=-=-=- Syd felt the pull and tugs of Armana's words. He looked at Plushie. They would be moving soon and they should get closer to Armana.

"Got it!" Silpphire use her energy shield abilities making sure no one bother Armana.
"Right, stay close, like a trusted knight," Pyromage said, though it was hard to tell if he was replying or just repeating it to himself.
xoxox xox xoxox
Plushie looked at Sydra and followed.
Darum dropped the quiver, arrows spilling everywhere. He tossed the normal ones aside and picked up a silver one. But it looked as if the strange wolf was leaving. "The demon creature, don't let it get away!" His men looked doubtful, they did not wish to follow the dark being and Darum did not want to go himself. "Just go!"
"You go," one of the archers replied, the others agreed.
Darum only cursed angry that they were not listening to him.

Sydra was as close as he and Plushie could get before he felt the whipping wind. Concentrating as hard as she could she closed her eyes and thought of the group, then of their safety. And before she opened her eyes they were out of the forest.
The wind blew lightly in the grass surrounding them. They were in the plains, but she could not be sure how far away that was from where they had been or where their goal was. She took a breath and fell into Dion's arms.
"That was a little dramatic." he offered as his eyes adjusted. He looked for Pyro and Silpphire. They were there too, but he could not imagine that it would have been a completely pleasant experience.
Sydra growled more to himself as he led Plushie to the rest of the group.

Silpphire blinked and studied her surroundings, she felt a bit dizzy from the sudden change but was other wise alright.
Pyromage was a little dizzier but hew wasn't complaining, "that was kind of cool!" He liked it, even if he looked as if he was drunk from the dizziness.
"Great, just what we need that idiot bothering us," Silpphire pouted.
"Hey relax, you have a brave knight to protect you!"
Pyromage's assurance seemed to have little effect on Silpphire, she sighed. "Nenshib!" She suddently rushed past the group but there was nothing but a small scroll on the ground where Silpphire had been certain she saw Nenshib before. She picked up the scroll. "did he teleport here just now for this?"
Plushie growled, he had a bad feeling.
