Syd watched and figured he was making a list of things to remember should he ever need to give an inspirational speech. But, at least he was committing it to memory. "Great, then let's try breakfast shall we?"
Dion and Syd ushered Pyro to the kitchen where Dion started to give instructions to make waffles. He gave them slowly, like mix in the eggs and flour now. And he spoke as clearly as possible.

"Well, I'm glad you can be in a good mood." Armana gave a nod as they started to walk down the hall. "And you should always hold your man to his word. Never let him back down."

"Right, knights need energy, and breakfast gives people energy." Most who saw Pyromage would say he already had too much energy.
He followed Dion's instructions and place flour into a bowl then gently place an egg, shell and all on top of it. He searched for a kitchen knife and prepared to stab the egg open.

Silpphire walked down the hall with Armana. "Yes! I agree!" A memory of her past returned to Silpphire. She remembered she once broke her word, she was only trying to buy some time and... she pushed the thoughts away, all of that was behind her and she had a new future to look forward too.

Sydra grabbed the egg, his hand scratching the knife. He cracked the egg, "You have to crack it, no instruments needed to break it. You can tap it against the bowl or the counter."
Dion chuckled, "I should have been more clear."
-=-=-=-=-=-=- Armana smiled but then her smile turned to a frown as memories of Silpphire's past surfaced and something about breaking her word. Armana paused in her steps. She knew everyone had secrets and things they would rather forget. Normally she had better defenses for things like this. but it took an hour of her day to adjust herself to not reading minds freely and she hadn't done that yet.
"The future is uncertain." Mani said, "and sometimes we get tied up by our past. We cant have one without the other," she continued, "But one is something that happened and one is a possibility. Either way, they were not meant to rule us."
She stepped down the first step and looked back and gave another smile.

"Why did you do that?" Pyromage took note of the scratch gave Sydra a dramatic look, as if he was about to despair about wounding his own ally. "A knight shouldn't hurt a comrade... I failed the egg training!"
Plushie watched Pyromage's dramatic reaction. He wouldn't be surprised if he was heard all over the house.

Silpphire didn't know od the depth of Armana's word but they fit very well. "I'll remember that." Silpphire smiled back. "Did you hear something about egg training just now?"

"Because our directions were unclear," Syd said. Not because Pyro messed up. "We should have said to break the egg before putting it in. If we do it with a knife it means we'd have to pick out the egg shell. And that would be troublesome."
"You didn't fail." Dion reassured. "We weren't very clear."
Armana nodded, "I did indeed. I sounds like they are teaching young Pyro how to cook."

"My knight instinct should have prevented me from doing this... I guess I'm still a knight in training. I'll try really hard to do well on the next training!" Pyromage made a mental note to think about what he was told in the future and find the true meaning before doing anything.
Plushie was amused by the training. With Pyro around, not a single day of his life had been boring.

Silpphire giggled. "Pyro always burns things, this will be fun!"

"Calm down, Pyro." Syd instructed. "Take a deep breath and remember there is something that can be learned from everything and that sometimes, things liek this have to happen."
Some times thingslike this or worse. He mused, he grimaced and he heard the footsteps of Armana and Silpphire enter the kitchen.
"Goback to bed." he instructed, "We're not done yet."
"But we can help." mani giggled, "Please, Syd?" She looked at him with eyes he could never refuse. "For me?"
As though that would somehow help. Sydra looked away. He knew what battles he could and couldn't win.
"Perhaps hte Lady Silpphire would be interested in learning to make breakfast." Dion commented, "I hear its an old tradition to make your lover breakfast in bed on your first anniversary."
"Oh I did that!" Mani chirped, "It was so much fun!"
"even though i coulnd't eat it..." Syd grumbled.
"Oh but it took me months to be able to get it right. Cooking is a good skill to have."

"Learn from everything... got it." Pyromage took an exaggerated deep breath and held it, assuming this was part of the learning process.
"Tradition?" That was something Silpphire had not thought of before. She knew Sugary Kingdom had many traditions but she was unfamiliar with most of them, that would not look good in a future queen. "I'll admit I'm not very good at cooking, but I'm a little better than Pyro, in that at least I don't burn things that bad... most of the time things turn out a little raw for me... I would love to learn if you'll teach me, I want to know all about Sugary's traditions!"
Silpphire glanced Pyro, who was still holding his breath. "Is this some kind of knight training?"
Pyro nooded and gave a thumbs up.
"Oh..." Silpphire blinked. "Okay..."
Finally Pyromage let out the breath he was holding. "Was that long enough?"

Syd rolled his eyes as Pyro held the long breath, and mumbled to himself about someone taking things to literally. He shook his head and looked at him. "It was a little too long, actually. When one takes a deep breath it should be like this." He took a deep breath, held it for three seconds and exhaled. "Anything else wastes time."
"We can teach you almost anything." Dion agreed. "If you're willing to learn, there is much that can be said."
Mani watched silently a few thoughts and ideas turning in her head. Did they have time to be doing this now?

"Oh... Right, I knight can't wait time, there are dragons to slay and princesses to save. Knight are busy people," Pyromage nodded and tried to remember that for the future.
"That would be great," Silpphire cheered. "I want to be ready..." though she didn't say exactly what she wanted to be ready for, her eyes easily gave it away.
"Hey that reminds me, if knights can't waste time should I hurry up with the training so we can go on the journey? I think I got the general idea of breaking eggs, should we start cooking now?" Pyromage formed a small flame in his hand.

"Can't go on a journey on an empty stomach." Mani and Syd said together.
"And some things take time." Dion added.
But even if that were so, the process of making breakfast was sped up a great deal by everyone pitching in. Even with the table cloth getting set on fire, the waffles were enjoyable and Syd and Dion had made sure nothign really caught fire.
Mani finished her breakfast and looked at the window. The sun was beginning to shine more and more. "Looks like it will be a nice day to travel."

Pyromage's stomach growled as if to agree. "That was not supposed to happen," was there anything more unknightly?
Breakfast went by with no more casualties than a burnt table cloth, which really wasn't so bad, at least the house was not damaged.
"Going on a journey like the fairy tales, this will be great!" Silpphire did not suspect that it would not be exactly like a fairy tale.
"I wonder if we'll meet any dragons, having experience fighting dragons is always good for a knight's resume, that's what I heard." Pyromage really wanted to see a dragon, it must be spectacular.

"You're all about dragons aren't you kid?" Dion asked in what seemed like an uncharacteristic manner. "Well, not all knights fight dragons." But he fully expected a 'but the great ones do' from Pyro. Dion didn't wait for it, he didn't want to hear it and so he started to pick up the dishes.
"Dragons are nice," Mani piped in, "Like people they come in good and bad."
"Dragons are annoying to fight." Syd groaned, "I swear if I never have to fight another one it will be too bloody soon." he crossed his arms, "There's probably nothing harder to fight than a dragon," Syd continued, "They're stubborn and strong, and not something you should be looking forward to fighting."
He was unaware that the butler that served his family for so long was a beastie of the dragon variety. In fact, it was Armana and Dion's little secret. And she would not tell. If she had too she would take the secret to her grave.

"A good dragon... in most of the stories they're bad but I guess there can be good dragons. It's just that all the knight stories I read have the main hero fighting a dragon and then he wins and everyone all happy and he's knighted and all so cool!" Pyromage was still living in a knightly dream world, thinking that being a knight was just as the stories told. "If I still fight, wouldn't that make me brave like the legendary knights in history?"
"Pyro, you should leave the dragon fighting to Nenshib, he'll win for sure!" Silpphire was all starry eyed about the prince, in her eyes he could accomplish anything.
"Fine then, I'll fight a dragon when I go on my second heroic journey, next time I'll go with Nenshib!"
"Hey, don't keep him busy for too long, or I'll miss him... actually I'll tag along too," Silpphire and Pyro were far from seeing the truth about Nenshib, though he had not hypnotized them, with their admiration it was not needed.

Syd and Mani exchanged glances. They shook their heads and Syd mumbled something about being young again. Mani felt in increase in sadness and aggravation which she could only assume was from Dion.
Being the sensitive woman she was Mani spoke, "Why don't we leave the dragons until we actually have to meet one or fight one. I mean, talking about it now is just silly."
Mani knew nothing of the journey. She had been unconscious.

"You're right, people always say nothing can compare to actually seeing a real dragon... and I'll be ready be then, right?" Pyromage looked to Sydra, and also Dion who had helped with his training that morning.
Silpphire mumbled something about Nenshib being even more magnificent than seeing a real live dragon up close, then she caught herself spacing out and woke up from her day dream. "Armana, Sydra told you about the journey right? What do you think we'll see?"

Mani paled, "No, no he did not. what journey? And why are we going on one?" She looked at Syd who looked away. "Please fill me in my lady."
Sydra grumbled about details and somethign about it being better if she just followed along.

"Prince Nenshib sent us a letter yesterday. He said we gained a bad reputation after what happened at the ball but he still believes in us. We need to go on a journey to investigate the witch, the real witch. Then when we come back we can have anything we want," Silpphire was very excited about that, so excited in fact she didn't consider the danger of the journey.
"And I'll be Nenshib's main knight," Pyromage's fanboy side showed again, as he remembered what he was promised.
Plushie quietly watched, he was used to traveling with Silpphire and Pyromage, now they had more companions but he wasn't sure if this journey would be any different from their previous travels.

At mention of the letter Armana paled, yes, she did know of it. She had blocked it from her mind now she was forced to remember it again. "Ah yes, that's right."
Sydra looked indifferent about the idea. He couldn't really imagine Pyro as a full flledged knight. At least not with his lack of control or patience. He felt uneasy about the whole ordeal. "We should just get ready and get this over with." Syd grumbled, "I can't stand witches either."

The possibility of a dangerous journey occurred to Silppihre, but they were a strong group, with a variety of abilities, plus she didn't believe Nenshib would send them if he wasn't sure they would be alright. She went into a day dream of Nenshib secretly following them and appearing to rescue her should danger come.
Silpphire wasn't paying attention to Pyromage's ramblings about all the cool things he wanted to see in the journey, she doubted anyone was. "Are we leaving soon?" Pyromage looked like a child who was promised a visit to the candy story and wanted to go there right away.
Plushie had been fed and was used to traveling so he was content enough that morning. He had decided not to think to much of the odd feelings that came when the journey was mentioned.
