The lightning arced across the sky as it always did when a being tried to descend from heaven. It was a gateway, the last trial that the gods had set up before an immortal being from the heavenly plain could cross into the mortal world. The sky was a dark overcast. Puffy cumulus clouds stretched as far as the eye could see. If viewed from above, the clouds were calm and peaceful, and the portal to the heavenly plain began to swirl into existence, blocking all below from seeing it. It was a clear swirl, that could only be seen because of the light it diffracted around it. The clouds warped with the clear energies, creating a clear cyclone in the sky. Smoke poured from the mouth of the storm, firing up the clouds further, and giving the lightning more power. It took a great deal of energy to cross over spiritual plains.
Around the storm, the sky was a gentle pink and orange, as it was high in the atmosphere now, where the sky turned colors due to the different chemical compositions. The cloud spread seemed almost like a floor, and the vortex a spinning porthole hanging on an invisible wall. It was awe-inspiring, but remained a well-hidden secret. Below the cloud cover, webs of lightning lit the sky in a dazzling array directly over Pyromage’s head. Every now and then, a bolt would touch to the floor in the distance, instantly slamming the sand or dirt into perfectly crafted glass discs. All lightning did this of course, so it wasn’t anything special at all. What was supposed to be special was what was above the clouds.
The vortex grew bigger, and a bright light shone from the center, illuminating the top of the clouds. Inside, there was a writhing figure, and the vortex tripled in size. The sky grew dark as the night, as the light was literally sucked from the surrounding for form the ethereal body of a practical god. A lycanthrope figure, odd to come from heaven in the first place, topped off with majestic angel wings. His eyes now though, the only thing to be seen with any texture at the moment… had changed. Fang’s eyes, when he was alive, had been yellow. Now, the beautiful golden discs that illuminated his ethereal face lit the place up around them. His eyes, all in his eyes. They had always been the source of his power, the place where the light shone the brightest. Fang could never fight in the dark with his eyes open, because it would give his position away immediately.
Now, the gold spewed forth light brighter then any Super Nova could produce. It reached out and kissed the clouds with a gentle grace, yet blinding fury. The sight was amazing to behold to anyone lucky enough to lay eyes on him. Gone was the dark, cruel teeth that lined the jaws of the werewolf. Gone was the messed hair, and dark scars that lined his white fur, making hem visible to anyone with normal eyesight. Gone was the cruel look that scared people so without even giving him a chance to show how nice he was. Fang was a figure of beauty now. Smooth, matted fur covered his whole body, neat and orderly, while his tattoos shone in brilliant contrast. A crescent moon, and a Distinguished Flying Cross.
Fang was almost to Earth… and every bad guy on the planet would know his name.

Pyromage loved lightning. He started running to the distance trying to get to it while most people would usually try to get away from it. He stopped and tried to call it. Sometimes the lightning landed near him attracted by his own lightning abilities. It was a rare special ability of the fire users, the purest form of fire some would say. Bits of lightning form in his hands, he put them together and in a mix of yellow and blue threw the electricity to the skies trying to attacked more electricity towards him.
Plushie looked worried and Silpphire petted him gentle. "Don't worry, Armana will wake up, Pyro won't do anything stupid and we'll all be together again soon... I hope he doesn't get himself killed before I can drag him back inside."

Sydra searched the many bodies, finaly he found Sabbat. And had Sabbat been alive, Sydra may have killed him. The thought of him bringing Sabbat back and killing him, helped ease the anger and initial pain he felt. He sighed, kneeling down. "This..wasn't part of the deal."
Armana's fingers twitched. She then jolted awake, her eyes shooting open and tears streaming down her cheeks. "Go get Pyro." she squeaked. Even though she could speak, and was now sitting, her mind had not readjusted and she could not hear.

"Armana!" The situation had affected her a lot that much was obvious. "Are you going to ok if I go now? I don't want to leave you like this" The next crash of lightning sounded like it was closer.
Outside Pyromage was still trying to attract the lightning with his own electricity. "Yes... come to me..." A small bolt of lightning landed near by close enough for some of it to reach Pyromage. He seemed to have collected a good amount of static in his hair and stumbled around but was otherwise ok since the lightning didn't hit him directly. "Again... come to me!"
"The lightning is getting closer. I need to go get him. A I'll be right back!" Silpphie gave one last reassuring look to Armana "It's ok it'll all work out somehow..." She didn't know about the full situation yet... "Plushie take care of Armana, I'll be back with Pyro"
Reasoning with Pyromage was not an easy task. He completely ignored Silpphire when she tried to tell him that if the lightning reach him directly he could be killed. "Pro stop being stubborn and let's go back inside!"
"Leave me alone, mind your own business Silpphire" He ran away with Silpphire chasing him.
"Stop being so unreasonable!" thunder was heard and in a split second Silpphire had her shield up to stop the lightning that followed she still felt it thought. "Ow, how could you like that?"
"Don't get in the way you don't understand! I have my own lightning it feels different for me, it feel really good and it's so pretty and shiny and-" He stopped his explanation silenced by a knee to the stomach.
"You're coming back inside!" She proceeded to drag him back to the castle which was not an easy task since didn't wan to go back inside.

There was a lot to take in as Sydra looked at Sabbat. If not for his anger, he would be on the ground a crumpled mess, broken and weak. He had no time to worry about having used his own blood as a weapon as he lifted his fallen comrade from the ground. Before he knew it, he was out of the Palace and on his property confronting Dion.
"Master." Dion greeted, in confusion. He looked at Sydra's current state, it was only natural to assume what had happened. "I see. Your request?"
"Entomb him in the family mosilleum." Sydra answered.
"Tha Alexander Family tomb, My lord?" Dion repeated shocked by Sydra's seemingly generous and unselfish concern.
"Did I studder?" Sydra replied shortly. "This man is a great warrior, just as much," he paused, thinking perhaps more than most of them, "as any man in my family."
"Of course." Dion nodded, "I shall prepare the ceremony." Pausing before opening doors for Sydra to set Sabbat down he looked for Armana. "My lady should be arriving soon, I assume. Is she in a state needing of assistance as well?"
"Yes," Sydra answered. "Do what you can for the ceremony now, let me worry about Armana."

Armana wrapped her arms around Plushie for support. Such a gentle creature, he was good for the soul. "Plushie, we lost a friend today." she said, "I will have to tell Silpphire and Pyro. I feel, something dark is coming."

Plushie was sad, it was reflected in his eyes. Sabbat had been nice to him and it seemed he likes wolves, he even mention having a friend who was part wolf. He tried to be supportive of Armana, his instinct told him to be strong for her.
"Armanaaaaaaaaaa!" Though the voice belonged to a grown man it was very childish and whinny in tone.
"Don't whine to Armana, she's not feeling well and knights don't whine" Silpphire said. Didn't Pyromage realize that this was all for his own good? He lightning hit him it could injure him gravely or even kill him but he just didn't get it. "Sorry Armana, I kind of broke your other heal too, I'll get you another pair"
Pyromage kept mostly quiet like a good little knight to be but he still wanted to run outside and that bump of his head hurt. He rubbed the spot on his forehead where Silpphire hit him with the heal hard enough to break it, even harder than when she fought before even if that was against actual enemies. He was certain he had a red bump there and looked as if he was about to grow a unicorn horn.
"How are you Armana? Still feeling ill?" Silpphire asked.

"A little ill still." Armana replied. Her voice was soft and she was still pale. She shook her head to try and push everything form her body. "Sydra is planning something." As tears began to sting her eyes she gave a half smile. "It's just ashow, you know. It's alright." She forced herself to stand.
Her knees wobbled but she was determined to make it. "We have to get back home. We have a lot to talk about and a lot to plan." She walked two steps and stopped. She was so out of breath for no good reason.

Silpphire and Pyromage rushed towards Armana. Pro wanted to go play in the storm but a knight needed to have priorities and a good knight wouldn't leave a friend to go out and play.
Silpphire slowly nodded. "Yes, I think it's best if we do go home..." She wondered what Sydra's plan was and what would happen next. Somehow it felt as if it was a turning point.

After much labored walking, they reached the residence. Armana immediately plopped onto the couch with a sigh. She looked at the ceiling and wondered where Dion and Sydra were. Sydra answered her unspoken call, he sat on the arm of the couch as a raven.
"What are you planning?" she inquired, but he turned his head. He would not trouble her.

"I can't believe it turned out like this..." Silpphire mused. "Life sure is full of surprising twists and turns." Many important events, mostly ending in tragedy, had taken place in a one short evening and a portion of a night. Funny how all Silpphire wanted to do was dance with Nenshib and then many things that took priority started to happy.
Pyromage stood there with a sad puppy look on his face to match Plushie's expression. He was a point where he had no idea what a knight should do, because somehow, simply looking cool didn't feel like it was enough.

Armana nodded, "Life is full of many things. Some are good and some are bad. It's knowing how to take those twists that makes it easy or hard." She didn't know what they should do. She just wanted to curl up in Syd's arms and cry. To make it all go away and just to maybe leave the kingdom forever and never look back. Why? Because it felt too troublesome and if she kept up like this she would break.
But she had a lot to do and if not for her own sake for Syd, for Pyro, For Silpphire. For Plushie, it didn't matter as long as she could concentrate on something or someone.
The Raven Sydra pondered, his thoughts were not at all guarded, but with Mani in such a mess he didn't need to keep it hidden. It did not take a psychic to know trouble was coming and there would be a lot of it. He hated fighting dragons, they were unnaturally strong and stubborn. And Syd would know a thing or two about being both.
He opened his mouth to speak, forgetting he was a raven, and let out a caw only to tilt his head and flap his wings in irritation.
Armana looked at Silpphire, "What would you have us do?"

"Me?" Silpphire pointed at herself like a surprise child. "Well... something must be done that's for sure, but I don't know how we could deal with the situation, actually, I don't even fully understand what's going on..." She paused and looked towards Pyromage waiting for him to say something. An idea, even if it was a crazy one, would be most welcome. "Pyro, what would a knight do?"
"A knight would do what's right," Pyromage's answer started out confident.
"What would that be?" Silpphire asked for the details.
As she guessed, Pyro opened his mouth, kept it that way for a good minute, then finally spoke. "I have no idea but I'm sure The Knight does..."
"But Prince Nenshib isn't here, he's probably busy doing something noble and heroic and..." Silpphire paused as something clicked. "Hey that's it! We should leave it to Nenshib! No wait, we should go with him... but I'm not sure if we'd be allowed to, I didn't even get the chance to talk to him..."
"Go with Nenshib..." Pyromage repeated quietly, "on a journey with The Knight..." he suddently turned loud. "I want to go! I want to go! I want to go!"
Knock, knock knock. Pyromage fell silent as a knock on the door was heard...

The knock rang in Armana's ears but it sopped suddenly. Perhaps because Dion opened it, but she suddenly felt sick. Like this was one more thing to over power her.
"Can I help you?" The aged Dion inquired as he stood in the doorway. He looked at the visitor kindly and seriously. He made no move to invite the person in, not without permission.

The man standing at the door was still quite young around sixteen or seventeen. He dressed formally and carried a rolled up paper. "Is this the Alexander residence?" Judging by his apperance he was a messenger from the palace.
Pyromage caught a glimpse at the teenager at the door and his mood improved. "Maybe they send him here to tell me I'm going to be knighted."
Silpphire curiously looked towards the door wondering who it could be. "Aren't you supposed to do something heroic before that can happen? He's obviously here because Nenshib wants to see me."
While the two were absorbed in their dreams, which they knew all to well were wishful thinking and not the likely truth; Plushie gave Armana a concerned look as if saying I smell trouble.

"And if it is?" Dion inquired. His wine colored eyes looked the boy over, had Dion been a normal human he probably would have let the boy in with little problem. Just as any good servant would do. His eyes were challenging, almost intimidating and he may have very well transformed should he have been outside.
Armana patted Plushie on the head. "I feel you." She responded, she looked up to the Raven indicating maybe he should go help Dion. But Sydra looked back at her with a look that said he wsn't much more help than she would be, at least no until he got some rest or fed.

"Um well..." The boy stuttered unsure. He expected to be welcome given the message he carried. He straightened his posture and continued speaking formally. "I have a message from his majesty Prince Nenshib, personally written by him..." He waiting a moment and studied the expression of the one who had opened the door. He was supposed to read the paper for them then give the paper to the leader of the group and return to the palace with their reply, but somehow he felt that the formalities would not flow easily.
The rolled up document, adorned with gold in the corners had an odd feel to it, which the messenger assumed was only due to his own excitement of delivering a message directly from the prince. Little did he know that in his unguarded haste, Nenshib had let his emotions pour into the document. Of course no one would notice and they did it wouldn't be given much thought, the paper was harmless really, yet some sensitive to such things might read from it more than just the words written in ink.
After a a long while of debating what to do and studying what he could see from the door, he decided to simply ask. "Should I formally read the message to the Alexander family and their companions; or would it be best if the letter was delivered to them to read privately? I will wait outside for a reply if need be."
Plushie stayed close to Armana, watching the others as well. His instinct told him that something was to come.

"You will wait outside for a reply." Dion spoke and his hand reached for the parchment and he took it before he shut the door in the boy's face. He felt nothing from it, but that did not mean Armana would be as lucky. He brought it into the living room and extended his hand to Armana.
She recoiled trying to sink into the sofa and Sydra squaked loudly. Dion handed it to Silpphire. "Perhaps you should read it, my dear?"

Silpphire nodded energetically and accepted the parchment. "A letter from Nenshib!" She practically squealed with joy.
"Read it! Read it!" Pyromage was like an impatient child when it came to his idol.
Silpphire extended the paper and read. "To my dearest friends:
My deepest apologies go out to you, for you had been invited to a celebration only to meet with disaster. I would like to say that I wish to invite you to my home once more and properly honor your bravery. However, my wish cannot be granted for the vile enemy had tainted your reputation.
My dear father sadly believes the confused words of the guard, that you my friends are on the enemy's side. Fortunately not all is lost, my father has agreed to welcome you back into out kingdom as heroes, should you successfully clear your names, though I know they are already clean of any faults.
I ask of you to embark on a noble journey, I too will be on a journey on my own and perhaps our paths will cross. Help me uncover the secret of the evil witch so that her dreadful power is never again free.
When you return from this journey the Alexander family will be recognized as nobles and welcomed to participate in all royal affairs deciding the future of our kingdom. The first of those activities will be to officially name Sir Pyromage a knight of Sugary Kingdom, my main knight. Lady Silpphire, until we meet again think of what your reward should be and I shall grant it, as well as other wish anyone in my group of horoic dear friends should have."
At the bottom of the letter Prince Nenshib's name was signed in elegant calligraphy. The feelings coming from the letter did not match the words written on it at all. To Plushie it felt like a trap, but Silpphire and Pyromage were literally jumping with joy and celebrating like noisy children.

Sydra transformed back to himself in a fit. "Treated as nobles?!" He scoffed, "He knows little about my family as it is! That fool of a boy!" The intensity of his irritation caused his eyes to burn brightly and he took the letter as gently as possible from Silpphire and read it a few more times.
While they were not noble, they were rich; admittedly Sydra never knew why but to him his family had always been noble so there was very little for him to gain by doing this. He could probably claim the throne for himself has he willed it. Not many men could actually stop him in a fight.
The msplaced emotions to the words made Armana's stomach turn. She sat up attempting to readjust herself. Pyro's and Silpphire's joy mixed in with it and then, Sydra's intense irritation and Dion's uncertainty. She felt the low contemplation of the wolf and his idea of a trap and she couldn't help but agree.
Her breaths skipped, half like she was breathing and half like she couldn't quite figure out the action.
"Lies." Armana spoke softly, "It's..this is." She gulped hard and tried to make sense of everything that was rushing around her. "It's, I ......"
She stood, everyone's emotions becoming her own and she didn't even know what she was trying to say anymore. She didn't have to say anything, she passed out. Dion and Sydra both caught her and Syd looked even more irritated.
"I'll send the messengar away." Dion spoke, "But with what message?"
"We'll attend to the journey in the morning, after a good night's rest." Sydra answered. "Some of us are in no condition to be traveling tonight." He leaned closely to Dion, "Should the palace guard come for us tonight or should anyone disagree, I'll send them to the Underworld."
"I suppose I shoul dleave that out of the message." Dion mused as he left Armana to Sydra.
He opened the door to see the nervous little messenger. "My lord and Lady shall accept the terms and will start first thing in the morning."

"Armana!" Silpphire and Pyromage called out at the same time, rushing to her side. Why did she faint like that? Was it exhaustion or...?
"Lies?" Silpphire quietly repeated. Why would the heroic prince lie?
"Too good to be true," Pyromage had his own way to interpret the words. "It does feel too good to be true but there's the letter and the messenger, and it's all so official."
The messenger was a little startled when Dion returned. She nodded quickly. "Yes, sir!" He was certainly happy to out of there. He liked it when people got all exited to get a message from the palace, not when they shut the door in the face; though it was the first time that happened, still he decided he did not like it and rushed back to the palace as fast as he could.
