Mikari gave Reno a small kick under the table, "I'm sure you meant to say saving Spitters you didn't squish well enough." She took another bite of her ice-cream pizza. "Must be annoying mission day today."

"I don't have a next mission." Reno reported in his own sense of pride and 'I really hope Tseng calls it a day because I want to go drinking' type tone. "But, knowing Leader, my work is far from done." A force sigh escapes his lips and it makes it difficult to tell if he loves or hates his job. He then corrects his previous statement, "I'm always on the clock," but Reno's always is loose.
He ignores Mikari's comment only because he knows he started this argument, but feels safer to duck out of it on his own terms.

Hikou, as if she had not heard a word the girl had said, put up a hand for silence, and hit the redial button on her phone. A familiarly gruff voice responded.
"Rude."
And despite the constant throb in her arm, and the pressing matter of finding her little catch, let alone the sheer age of the jibe, the girl just couldn't resist, "I'll say."
Rude sighed, too old and too busy for this game. "Did you read the file, Hikou?"
The girl grinned, never sick of her own pathetic humor. "Haven't gotten to a computer yet. I'm just wondering where you heard that name." The girl vaguely remembered her own short interrogation of the boy back at the old Shinra Tower, and his clipped offer that they call him Jonathan.
"You have a bad habit of leaving evidence behind," was his answer, and when the girl did not respond, he was forced to elaborate. "You left a rifle in the chopper, inscribed Jack Bennet."
Truthfully, Hikou didn't particularly remember hauling the rusted out gun the boy had with her, and couldn't find anything relevant to say. Her focus shied away from the PHS and flitted from the annoyed secretary's face, settling on a figure through the window of the other room.
It kind of looked like Snow.
"So... the file?"
The woman was ordering her to stop right this instant, but Hikou still didn't have her ID card on her, and thus had no pretty numbers or color photos to share, so she pushed on in to the next room to see just who was sitting there.
The voice on the other end of the phone crackled again. "I'm on my way to Tseng's office. Meet me there."
He did not wait for her to answer, and a low tone sounded as the line disconnected.

The soft click of boots filled her ears. Snow shivered as if in reaction, her eyes stopped on Hikou. She tried to offer a smile, some form a re-assurement that their prized possession was still in tact. But with a few of the staff hovering around the doorways made that hard.
She offered a seat, as it was the least she could do. "What's up?" her tone was distracted and annoyed but not particularly at Hikou.

Mikari let the short disagreement end, silently declaring herself victorious by continuing to enjoy her icecream pizza and Pepsi. She was almost done. Neither Hikou nor Snow was back and Mikari was starting to get curious about what they could be doing.

Hikou took a few steps forward, a little relieved that it was Snow, eyeing the seat but not taking it. Giving her PHS a small shake, she announced, "Rude's found something. I came to make sure our little Spitter's still kicking." She flipped the phone closed. "And get one of those magic little injections they have waiting for me," she tacked on, ignoring the irony of the description. "I think I'm on M-76 now, or something. Either way, my MP is totally dead."

Mikari finished the last of her icecream pizza and Pepsi, took another can and got up. "I'm going to see how Hikou and Snow are doing."

Not really having anything better to do with his time, Matt just figured he'd hang around for a bit. "Mind if I tag along?" He asked. It was easier to kill the time between missions when with company.

"Does he ever stop working?" Snow inquired about Rude, but she wasn't much better hovering about the kid. Her mind mulled over the term still kicking, "He's alive, yes, but I don't know if he'll be 'kicking' anytime soon."
Snow visibly shivered at the mention of MP injection. No needles for her, a good night's rest would do the trick, or maybe even a 15 minute power nap.
-=-=- "Fine, have fun you crazy kids." Reno called over his shoulder. He would probably sit there until he as paged just so he wasn't working.

"Sure, I'm not sure if they're done fixing Spitter but there should be some news." At least it would be better than sitting around being bored, though not as good as going home to play around the network.
"Okay, we're off to finish your job," Mikari decided that it was amusing enough to blame the presence of the Spitter on Reno, and besides she had to blame someone for the little annoyance and the kid was too weak to take anything, even the blame for having survived long enough to be found by the Turks.

"Rude?" Hikou inquired, trying to think of a time when the man stopped for just a minute. Even away from work it always seemed like there was an ulterior motive of Shinra working behind his glasses. "Maybe when he's taking a leak, but still I doubt it..."
There was a wrap at the door as the girl from the office burst in. "You can't just come in here without ID!"
"Oh, Christ," Hikou rolled her eyes, card still sitting in a locker somewhere. "I'm a Turk, lady." She paused, waiting for this simple phrase to solve everything, but the girl still glared at her with arms crossed. "5-8246471," she listed off in an automated tone, "just get me my refill and a copy of whatever file they're making on that kid."
"I don't--"
"Just do it," the Turk snapped, much too tired to bother with social pleasantries, "or you can explain to Mr. Shinra why you have more authority than his bodyguards."

Snow stifled her giggles, not just about Rude but also from the scene that had just played out. She stood and thought she might be able to be more persuasive to the clerk, she handed over her ID badge, "File." she simply responded before setting her hand on Hikou's shoulder.
"Everyone likes to pretend they have more authority than us lately."

Mikari made her way in the infirmary in rushed pace, she didn't like it there. If anyone tried to stop her she's just lift her electrorod and say "Turk business, out of the way." Which translated to 'get away from me unless you want a free demonstration of what Turks do'. She still had a little bit of MP left and her electro rod. She wasn't sure which was to go so she used her PHS to track the signals from snow and Hikuo's PHS', however, heading towards them on a straight line did not work for there were walls in the way. Walls that she couldn't comet out of the way. Good with MP, bad with directions, good repairing machines, bad at driving, good with computers, terrible at aiming. Ironically it was all somewhat balanced, but she still wasn't sure which way to go.

Hikou frowned at Snow, "With the way this company is heading, they might be starting to have more..."
The girl scampered off, and almost before the door could swing itself back closed she reappeared, handing Snow the clipboard of information and Hikou a package of five little syringed, all each glowing eerily in a dim shade of green.
The girl took a peak over Snow's shoulder at the file. "Unidentified Male," she read. "Well, that's good at least. If they were up to funny business they'd have given him a Subject Number."
Sliding one of the syringes out of the packet, the girl tossed her jacket aside and unbuttoned the cuff of her shirt, rolling the sleeve up to her bicep before jamming the needle in.
The world swayed for a second, and the letters imprinted on the side of the syringe unfocused for a moment. "M-75," she read aloud, words slurring ever so slightly. "I'm a step ahead of myself again." The injections to help counter her MP deficiency had always brought about these side-effects, but as time went on they lessened and lessened, but somehow managed to remain ever present.
At least, she consoled herself, she wasn't vomiting this time.

"It's the unidentified ones I worry about." Snow answered, "Our identification codes are usually numbers anyways." She mused and for once in her life felt like a mouse trapped in some large maze scrambling and looking for an exit.
Only to be taken in by the meanest, rudest, most caring gang of mice she'd ever met. And she couldn't quite discern where she had put all of this together, but it could be high stress from being in the infirmary which still smelled of thick chloroform in some areas. That still reminded her of Hojo and that always gave her the feeling he was lurking about when it wasn't possible.
"But maybe, they feel less inclined to number him with our eyes on them." It was a half reassuring thought, but a sigh escaped after her words.

Mikari ran around using her PHS as an electronic map, but she was bad at reading maps so she just put it away and kept running. Then by a sheer stroke of luck the found Snow and Hikou. "Found you!" She sounded like a child playing hide and seek, a violet child with an electro rod ready to hit whatever white coat decided to try to turn the game into tag. "Did anything interesting come up?"

Very carefully, Hikou set her empty syringe aside, tucking what was left of the packet inside the front pocket of her jacket as she picked it up. "He ought to be fine for now," she had to concede. "At least they know we're watching. That ought to be enough to keep them in line."
And as much as she would've liked to, the girl doubted it would've been conducive to the boy's health to drag him all about the building with her just to make sure.
She turned to Mikari. "Rude's got something; he should be waiting for us in Tseng's office."

"Rude found something... interesting..." He was quiet but effective, that was one way to describe Rude. "Okay then, I want to see what he found."

Matt had wandered in a few minutes after Mikari. He had been too lazy to run, but didn't have any difficulty following where she went. "Hm? Tseng's got a new mission?" He had overheard the last bits of the conversation from the hall.
He then paused and realized that he was in a medical facility, one which was currently in use by members of the fairer sex. Knowing that he probably shouldn't be in there, he quickly added in a "er, I'll be waiting outside" and showed himself out the door.

Before Snow could say anything Matt was gone. But she had hoped to tell him that it didn't matter to her. "Well, get well Hikou, check on the kid if you want, they refuse to let me back there." She glanced to the door, "I'll head over to Tseng's - he needs to debrief us anyways.."
And with that she was out the door. She stood next to Matt and gave him the once over. Her lips curved into a smile and she anted to say 'I see you've been out playing instead of working again'. But instead chose to just smile. After a breath she wiped some of the dirt off of his jacket, "Out all morning were you?"
