Alright, this is just a strange idea... but what if we tried to have a Roman/Greek roleplay? A historical fiction? For example, we could have a Gladiator thing at the Colosseum in Rome. Or we could have warriors of different parts of Greece, that type of thing. It would involve a bit more violence than the other roleplays that i've been in, and a more historical background would be required, so you wouldn't really be able to make stuff up like in the other roleplays.. But it would be entertaining to try out. Anyway, post your thoughts on the topic here. If you approve of it, i'll create a starting post here, with a plot, setting, and the such, as well as a sample profile.
P.S. If this is in the wrong section, please tell me so that I can move it to a more appropriate section.

Pretty much anything goes in our RPs. I think you should go ahead and post the plot that way people will get a clear idea of what it's like and start joining. (the forum seems to be going through one of it's quiet times but it should eventually end hopefully soon)

A great idea to be sure. Just remember that you do have to keep everything PG-13 and some violence is far beyond that. As well as not everyone here is a history buff. So you may have to go into extra detail to make things work. In agreeance with Mikari, I think you should post it if you have an idea for one.

*nods* That's true. There can be fights and still be kept PG-13. It's like there's a difference between saying that X attacked Y with a sword and describing how the sword shined in the sunlight, the surprise in Y's face, etc. rather than going into detail about how much blood was involved in the entire incident.

Aww... can I just label it as "R" rated and that way people that don't want to see it don't have to? I likers my long descriptions... T-T
And i'll get into posting that plot when I get to my next class... (i'm running out of time in this one)
Ok... plot hoooooo!!!
Colosseum idea: The Roman empire is at it's prime. They are the leading power of Europe and at it's core, was the thriving city of Rome. In the middle of the great city was a large circular arena. It had walls that made people lean back to see the top, and it was the host of the entire Empire's entertainment. Everyday the sounds of steel hitting steel could be heard emanating from the arena set up in the middle of this colossal building. Marble benches surrounded a round arena, which would be filled with screaming fans as slaves would battle to the death inside of the arena. This place was called the Colosseum, and you are part of it. Will you live to get the "wooden sword", the ultimate award, which granted you freedom? Or will you be cast down into the dirt, a figment of people's memories?
Roman Legion idea (not entirely accurate to history): You are a member of the Roman Legion, the strongest, more renounced army in the world. However, your strength is being put to the test by your Emperor. There is an army forming on the border of the Roman Empire and you need to stop it. (if you approve of this idea, I'll expand upon it so that you know armor, weapons, all that kind of stuff. The reason it's not entirely accurate is because women are allowed in the Legion, and it's a false battle)
(I will post the other option for Greek themed things later on)
Edited by Mikari: merged the doubles posts.

Proboards may have a problem with that since their terms of service mention that 13 year olds can join, I would much rather be on the safe side.

Well, it is possible to do without mentioning blood... but, whatever. I'm more used to violent roleplays, my appologies for thinking of more... violent ones.

Violent is fine. It's just that you don't need to go into detail about how someone's internal organs came out after you sliced them in half. Plus, there might be older members who have a problem with it. This RP sounds interesting.

Well, it's up to all of you if you want me to expand on it or not in order to turn it into a real roleplay or not.

^^ Sounds neat to me! I learned quite a bit in Latin class so if you wanted details on something you could ask me. (When/if you write up something and use this as a RP)
