Kirby, the adorable pink ball with the big appetite. We all know Kirby and most of us have either watched the anime or most likely played the games.
Did you know, that the character for the first Kirby game was going to be quite different? The little call was only a sprite for the tests during development but they ended up liking it more than the character they planned to put it. Since this other character never made it beyond the planning stage no one knows what it would have looked like.
Another random fact is that during earlier games for the game boy there was a little confusion about Kirby's color. Was he really white, or simply white due to the game boy's limitations? Was he yellow? Later it was clarified that Kirby had always been pink.
I love the Kirby games. They're so cute and fun. Even in the old NES the graphics were adorable and that's hard to do in such an old console. Kirby = Cuteness

Nightmare in Dreamland for GBA? It's really fun. It's the remake of Kirby's Adventure for NES with more cuteness. What Kirby copy abilities do you like/usually use?

I've only played the one for the game boy which was the remake for the original NES. XD But I liked being able to eat things and spit them out for attacks.

I like Mirror from Kirby Super Star (SNES). The hat is cute and the mirror guard is very useful. Kirby has a cute little wand and can make a mirror clone of himself. Cupid (Kirby and the Amazing Mirror GBA): Kirby looks more like an angel with the halo and wings, but has the hear arrows. They don't go in a straight line so aiming isn't my specialty with this one, but flying is super easy since he's actually flying instead of floating like he usually does. Sparks (Kirby and the Amazing Mirror GBA): Electric Kirby for the win! The move is also pretty effective and provides electricity from all sides, no need to worry about aiming. The hat looks like Plasma from Super Star but I like Sparks better. Needle from Nightmare in Dreamland, looks like a hedgehog Kirby. Wing (Super Star) Very cute, make flying easier, shoots feathers and flies faster. UFO (it's in a lot of games) alien Kirby for the win XD I like the NES Kirby's Adventure version of Ice, Kirby turns white with blue shoes and the Super Star version where he turns blue (still wears red shoes). Dedede and Metaknight are cool too. Penguin and blue Kirby!

I've only played through the original Kirby's Dreamland on GB myself. I still have a hard time accepting he's pink >.< I mean, the box art was a full color picture and he was white there...and when he's white, he reminds me of a cute little ghost.
I saw a bit of the cartoon on Fox Kids (well..I think it was Fox Box by then, when all the fail began.) Didn't care too much for it though..^^;

I only watched a few episode of the anime. It was cute but I wish it had more plot. Still cute though. Kirby was always supposed to be pink but in the GB there were color limitations, and color confusion.
There's also supposed to be some official art somewhere with a yellow Kirby (not the yellow one the made later, but the original Kirby being yellow before his yellow friend existed). Speaking of the other kirbies, the yellow one is cute and all but the green one is too bright and the red one doesn't fit at all, he's dark and bright all at once.
I like the pastel colored Kirbies, except Metaknight and Shadow Kirby, they're cute being dark blue and gray respectively. I want a light blue kirby, sure you can turn the pink one blue, but I want one that's light blue as his real color. The ice ability is cool like that. Kirby turns blue in most games, and white in the NES game.

Random fact: In Smash Brothers Cherri would always play as Kirby and he could be pink, red, blue or green depending on how you had teams set up. XD;

Yeah, there wasn't much plot in the anime, which is why I didn't bother with it too much. It's more of a simple, fun show aimed at a younger audience.
Hmm..I agree, light blue Kirby kicks ass. As does metaknight. Can't say I'm very familiar with shadow Kirby though.
I played as Kirby in smash. bros before. But I'm pretty newbish at that game...I got kicked around like a beach ball D:

Shadow Kirby is from Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. He's basically Kirby's "other self" from the mirror world.

Ooh Kirby's evil twin? That sounds deliciously cliche <3 What system was Kirby and the Amazing Mirror for?
What happens if Kirby swallows Kirby? Does he get like...uber Kirby powers? or..?

Not really an "evil" twin, if you attack him he gives you power ups so he's really not so bad. It was for GBA. I tried to make Kirby swallow Shadow Kirby but couldn't. XD
It's different from the other Kirby games in that each stage is like a maze and you have to find the mirrors that lead to the other stages (the mirrors work as doors), a map (though it is not a must) and mirrors that connect each stage with the main mirror room.
You can finish each stage via a few different goals or the boss room where you go to collect mirror shards. It's still a pretty easy games as most Kirby games are. The trick to it is to save his cell phone battery to call for help up to three times when you really need it. If you want a little more of a challenge try playing without using the cell phone to call the other 3 kirbies.

...How does kirby use a cell phone anyways? I mean...he doesn't exactly have fingers or anything for dialing. And if my memory serves me correctly (though it usually doesn't) didn't he...like...not talk...in the anime? o.o;

He has a cute little cellphone, I'm not sure how he dials but he moved his mouth. Maybe since he's calling other kirbies they understand the noises? XD

Hmm..a kirby language. I suppose that makes sense. I also suppose he has one of those speshul voice recognition phone features as well...
Well! That's another mystery solved...=D *satisfied*

Now you just need to play the game. It's shorter than Nightmare in Dreamland but still a fun game.

Shorter than Dreamland? Are we thinking about the same game? ._. I beat that in less than an hour...it was only like..what? 5 stages or so? D:
If it's shorter, I can't imagine it being worth monies ^^;;

Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland has 7 worlds with 4-6 (most had 6) stages in each world. The one for GBA that's a remake of the NES Kirby's Adventure. Kirby and the Amazing Mirror has 9 worlds with 2 goals and a boss fight each, except I wouldn't say it has 3 stages per world because it's actually one longer stage with multiple exits.

Hmm perhaps I was thinking of a different game? Kirby's Dreamland on the Gameboy? (don't recall there being any "nightmare" in the title) either way, it's been YEARS since I last played..

It was on the NES as Kirby's Adventure (best NES graphics I've ever seen, super cute) then on the GBA as Nightmare in Dreamland. I think it must have been a different game. It's one of my top favorite games ever.
