Title: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: Hikou on December 02, 2007, 09:31:42 PM
O: Hikou wanted to restart her old Turks RP. Any interest before I start reposting babble?
Mission Objective: Since its foundation the Shinra company has made numerous enemies in high and low places, and although the corporation has been reforming since the meteor incident many of those enemies remain. It is the duty of the TURKS unit to neutralize all potential threats to the Shinra company and its President. Recently, a small rebellion-terrorist group, known only by the name VAGRANT has been attacking the Midgar area. Members have yet to be identified, and time grows short.

[posty] It wasn`t so much the feel of the phone convulsing against the table that woke her as the awkward sense of it buzzing against her skin. A bobbed head popped up from the desk, and a tired hand retracted from the shaking plastic. "Mmrphh," she declared. The inevitable knocking of those not stuck with paperwork would be coming soon, and Hikou needed to regain the Shinra assassin exterior before the rest of the agents poked their stupid well-rested heads in. With a scowl she knocked the rather expensive company phs to the floor and stood to face the door.

Mikari stopped in front of the door, behind which she expected to find Hikou. She placed her ear close to the door and heard the sound of something falling, or most likely being thrown or pushed into the floor. Yeah, Hikou was awake alright. Without knocking or calling, Mikari opened the door.

[Oh man, this is gonna be 10x easier on the actual PC, not the crappy cellphone.]
Audience present, the girl deemed it necessary to start her tirade. "You know," she sighed, bending over to pick up the still vibrating phone, "you'd think it'd be enough that I have to actually go out and almost get shot seven times in the chest, but no. Tseng has to have me come back and write about it."
Glancing at the display screen, she rolled her eyes at the number, and tossed the phone aside yet again. "In excrutiating detail, might I add. You know he rejected my last three reports because they were, and I quote, 'too vague.'" Hikou took a seat and propped her feet up on the desk. "There's not really that much to say. I'm just going to start making things up."

"I usually put up my reports in the systems as stories for employees who are avoiding work to read as amusement. That really annoys Tseng, but I call it hacking training. Just think of it as writing adventure fiction and you'll get it right." Mikari conveniently forgot to mention the fact that lack of commas was another thing that Tseng disliked about her reports. Well it wasn't her fault the Shnira computer's default spell checker wasn't good at placing commas. She paused and let a yawn of boredom escape. "Either way, blowing things up is much more fun than writing about blowing things up."
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: Hikou on December 19, 2007, 03:27:35 PM
Hikou sighed, flipping her phone open to look at the display screen for the first time. "Bah," was the only greeting she could muster for the missed call and promptly snapped the thing closed again.
"You really shouldn't do that, Mikari. You never know who's reading that stuff." She spun to pick up the navy blue blazer draped over the back of the desk chair. A trace of red hinted beneath her button up shirt, and as she slid the thing up her arms she had to wince. "Little bastard tried to shoot me, and he only half missed."
The girl frowned. "I'm getting sloppy, aren't I? Anyway, I think it was one of Greco's old guys--you remember him?--but Tseng didn't seem like he bought it." She didn't stop a second to even breathe, picking up the papers littered on the desk, Hikou did her best to shove them back into the blank folder from which they'd come. They ended up bent at the corners and crumpled a little at the side, but eventually they all found a place. "But you know how Tseng is." She had to roll her eyes again.
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: MikariStar on December 19, 2007, 10:00:56 PM
Mikari shrugged. "It's pointless to write something no one will read." She didn't really care if the entire world knew what she was up to, the information wasn't specific enough to be useful anyway. "Besides, we could just solve things the Turks way if anything happens, right?" If the Turks were needed in action more often, they would spend less time doing paper work, at least while the action lasted. Procrastination was bitter-sweet.
Mikari nodded hearing Hikou's story and the part about Tseng. "Solid proof right? At the cost of a few bullets."

Hikou grimaced, whether from pain or thought was uncertain.
She brought her unharmed arm up to scratch at the back of her neck. "Things got a little out of hand. We're waiting on confirmation of dental records." Cradling the plain folder against her chest, the girl pushed through the door. "You know, I've never been that close to a fire spell before. It smells awful." Crinkling her nose, she shook the thought away. "You seen Boss-Man?"

Materia... Mikari liked materia, not natural materia, only the kind that came from reactors, the kind made through technology, the kind that could easily be combines with technology.
"I think most spells are stinky," yet she loved the scent of machines, oil, fuel being processed into energy. She wasn't much of a planet lover and possibly one of the few who missed the old Shinra sucking the energy out of the incompetent slave of humanity, the planet.
"No idea, but he has to be somewhere in this building." That was not saying much since the building was so big. "We could try procrastinating and actually looking for him; or getting to the point and tracking his phs with Shnira's technology, assuming he still has it on him."
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: Hikou on December 20, 2007, 03:17:03 PM
"I was sort of hoping for a new assignment," Hikou sighed out. "And I was sort of hoping to edit this," she gestured to her arm, "to be edited into the report at a later date. I suppose we should just go look for him."
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: MikariStar on December 20, 2007, 08:49:27 PM
"Sounds like a plan! Procrastination is always the best choice." They would take longer to find him if they didn't know exactly where to look, but that just made it better, more time to walk around while still getting paid for their time.

Hikou slid quietly out of the door, waiting for Mikari to follow. "Mess hall or archives room?" A third thought rammed her in the back of the head; "Or the lab?"
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: MikariStar on December 20, 2007, 11:19:53 PM
Mikari grinned mischievously. "The lab!" It was a well known fact that she loved to play with machines. "If we don't find him, we might find something amusing."

Suddenly struck by the sinking suspiscion that she was going to regret this, Hikou nodded and headed off towards the elevator. One of the many structures salvaged from the original design of the Shinra building, the two great glass elevators never failed to intimidate Hikou. Presented with the view of the city around her she felt small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and she was fairly certain Rufus had intended it to be that way.
Jolting out of her thought, she turned to Mikari, "You have your keycard? Mine's still in the locker room..."
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: MikariStar on December 21, 2007, 11:55:24 AM
"Sure, I practically never let go of it," Mikari inserted the key card into the slot. She was looking forward to arriving at the lab and finding out if there were any interesting new toys there.
"I like these elevators but that look in your face tells me you don't..." The glass elevators gave a her a view of the city, and she loved cities, as opposed to forests and fields. She liked to evolve and conquer nature, she loved technology and having humans walk supreme all over the, sometimes disobedient, slave known as Gaia. From her point of view, the planet was there to be used, another reason to miss the reactors and dislike the entire restoration plan.

"I`m not particularly fond of going up." Hikou sighed. She learned in soldier, the higher up you climbed the more trouble you werd likely to be in. At the chime of the door the girl stepped out and waited patiently for Mikari to lead the way, quite aware that she was completely out of her element.

Post by: Snow on December 21, 2007, 05:04:50 PM
Snow sat on Tseng's desk. It was painfully apparent to him that she was not even listening to the words he was saying as he looked over the report. She kicked her feet for a moment as she watched his dark eyes read over the file. "This is sloppy for you." Tseng commented shutting the folder and setting it on the desk. he gave her a look that seemed to tell her to get off the desk, but she didn't - he wasn't surprised.
"Leader, it's not mine." Snow corrected. She hopped off the desk and opened it up. She took a red pen from his desk and circled, underlined, and otherwise tore up the paper. "Too many mistakes. This is something someone who wants to be a Turks submitted. I sent them away. I got into trouble for it."
Tseng could see why she was irritable now. "Very well. I'll see what can be done. Go to the lab and get those reports like I asked you to an hour ago."
Grimacing Snow left the office grumbling to herself. Since when was she the messenger? Ugh, she thought, if its not Rufus its Tseng. If its not Tseng its Reno. I'm going to shoot the next person who wants me to deliver something because they can't walk two feet from them. Not one for elevators, Snow used the stairs. She arrived in the lab. It smelled, to her like it always did, like that of disinfectant and Mako. She could feel the trouble that had been caused here, this was one of her least favorite places in the whole company. She could only imagine what was going on behind some of those closed doors. She stood next to one of the scientists.
"I'm here for the lab results." She dully spoke.

"All the best stuff is kept in the higher floors!" Mikari exited the elevator noticing that Hikou didn't want to lead the way. It was a fact that went in and out of her mind in a split, before her thoughts focused on the arsenal of technology before her.
Giving the scientists a 'complain and I'll shoot you' look she made her way to the area designated for researching weaponry that used mako. She loved the scent of mako.

Hikou did her best not to scoff, but was never quite good at the self-control game. "Yeah, right. If all the 'best stuff' is a bunch of snot-nosed young scientists who somehow think they're gonna save the world with the scrap-metal legacy of a madman."
She side stepped around the white lab-coats without an incredible amount of difficulty, not bothering to look any one of them in the face, or acknowledge any one of their questions. As far as Hikou was concerned any one scurrying around this floor was a shade too far beneath her.

"That is not the best part," Mikari clarified. "The machines are the best part, the scientist can go get squished by a plate." She didn't care who heard her, in fact she spoke the last part rather loudly, as if wanting to be heard. Using technology to save some natural rock, was such a waste, even if they were stuck living on that rock. It should be used to control said rock into the will of humans, to take its power and claim it, to turn it into something better, not some big green ball of plants and dirt.

She heard the steps of other Turks. Their boots always made a specific sound on the tiles of the Shinra building. "The machines are the best part, the scientist can go get squished by a plate." filled her ears, she knew of only one person who felt that way - Mikari. She turned on her heels to spot the two female Turks. It caused Snow to smile, though she knew they were not on some stupid delivery.
Snow took the results in the manila folder and gave the scientist the cold shoulder. Literally, as she stepped away from him she allowed ice to slip from her fingertips. He jumped up in a fit of shock and cold that caused his comrades to look at him oddly. He shot accusing glances to Snow who could only shrug as she stepped next to Mikari and Hikou. "Tseng's in his office." Snow said simply. "As always. But you didn't hear that from me."
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: Hikou on December 22, 2007, 05:06:17 PM
Hikou smiled ridiculously wide, tapping her own folder against her chin thoughtfully. "Tseng can take his paperwork and jump off of the building, but you also didn't hear it from me." She cast a wicked glance at the white coats bustling around, resting on Mikari. "I suppose that means we can be done here, hm? Maybe I ought to just slip this under the door, but I want a new assignment." She looked hopefully to Snow. "He didn't happen to give you a new one, did he?"
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: Snow on December 22, 2007, 07:04:26 PM
"With three of us, we could make it look like an accident." Snow mused to Hikou's comment about Tseng jumping off the building. She gave a sigh and held up the folder. "Half the details are here, the other half he will not relinquish until I have delivered the contents of this folder. All morning he's had me chasing shadows." She crossed her arms and tapped the folder with her finger. "Alexander knows what's going through his head, but Elena or Reno should have been doing this." She paused, "Or rather should I say, no, I did not have a mission until I had to pick up a bit of slack for whatever reason." A sigh escaped her lips as she tilted her head before giving a shrug and giving up on her train of thought. "I just think Tseng is a sadist and likes to watch me walk out of his office in a huff." she continued, "Either way, some thing's got him a wee bit agitated. He's not putting up with shenanigans like he normally does." Snow turned, she pondered skipping off to lunch. "Eh, what do I care, work is work. There are just as many idiots here as there are out there, the ones here just get paid better." She glanced to a group of scientists who looked like they wished to urge the Turks out. Snow opened the folder and began to read, "From the looks of his desk, Hikou, I'd say you'll get your wish."

"Thank God," she sighed out. "This building is driving me crazy."
She turned to leave for the door, calling back over her shoulder, "Well, come on? There's things to do, places to go, people to see, bosses to be assaulting, and I need someone's keycard!"
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]

Mikari slipped away from the other two Turks for a moment and slipped back just on time to catch the end of the conversation. "Right, new assignment, let's go," Mikari lifted her key card pointing in a random direction. She was good at blowing things up, not having a sense of direction. A straight line was the best way to move and obstacles could be disposed of.
The look in her face could be described as angelic by those who did not know her, though those who did would say it was the expression of a death angel. It was rather obvious that she was simply trying to get away from the scene of the crime if she left the lab so willingly. "Any explosions that may or may not happen here are not my fault..." Mikari whispered only loud enough for Snow and Hikou to hear.

"Tell that to Rufus." Hikou rolled her eyes, reboarding the elevator. It'd been a while since the drug induced sleep in the company rejuvenation center, and the longer it took her to find Tseng the less she found it worth her while.
The world spun slightly around her, a blur of fading lights and rising people, and when the machine finally came to a chiming stop she had to do her best not to stumble out. The office would be down the hall to the left.
Straight. Left.
Straight. Left.
It was a simple instruction to follow, really, but it was hard to wrap her head around for some reason.

"Let the scientists deal with him," Mikari was tempted to press the buttons on the elevator some more, but she knew Hikou might not like that. Too bad, she liked riding the elevator, though it was too slow for her liking. She left the buttons alone, decided that enough mischief had been caused for now, and smile after hearing a loud noise which she assumed came from the lab. She followed Hikou out of the elevator and towards the office.

Hikou wasn't quite sure why she knocked. A precursor to invasion, she supposed, as she flung the door open a little harder than she had originally intended. It slapped against the wall with a resounding thump, that left the room nestled in a particularly awkward silence.
At a loss for words, she dropped the folder on the desk, trying to ignore how the sandwiched papers that hadn't quite fit in suddenly slithered out onto the polished wood.
"Erm."
That about summed it up.
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]

Following Hikou's lead Snow dropped her folder on the desk. Tseng glanced at the two of them and caught Mikari out of his eyes. He scanned her hand for a third messy delivery. Upon not seeing a thing he looked back at the folders that were already added to his increasingly messy desk. His eyes scanned the three for several minutes. He could have been at a loss for words, he could have been angry. It was hard to tell unless you knew him really well. Reno might argue it was his "thinking" face.
"There're your results." Snow dully responded.
"Yes, I assumed." Tseng answered. "I am a little more concerned about a message I just got from the lab about the three of you being there." His eyebrow raised and he read out loud, "Causing trouble and intimidating the lab staff. Damage of company property." He looked back to the folders and picked Hikou's up. Then handed each woman a new folder. "Details, you're big girls I'm sure you can compare notes and figure out what you are supposed to be doing." He handed Snow's original file back. "You'll need this more than I will." Tseng 'contented' himself to go back to work. He said no more about the lab, what could one say? He didn't come off as wanting them to leave. Should they have questions he would be required to ask.
"Are these numbers all Mako levels? Or what?" Snow inquired after a moment. "Or people? What?" They were all jumbled together. It was hard to tell population levels, mako poisoning, if it was a number had some value it was all shoved into one very unclear graph. She paused. "Ah wait, here we go. This is crap done by the lab."
Tseng looked up. "Complaining again."
"Did you look at these, honestly look at them? The lab sucks." She handed the folder back so that their fearless leader could over look it.
"I would...assume this is the list of potential terrorists. As well as target areas and their weaknesses" Tseng answered. "However, if the lab is this bad about Reno's data, perhaps someone should redo the investigation." He looked at the three. "Think of it as a bonus mission." his eyes widened for a minute then returned to normal.

"I'm sure Reno's data is fine, the lab people are just idiots," blame it on the lab workers, blame everything on them. After all, there were many things that many would agree were Hojo's fault, and he had been a scientist, they inherited his reputation. Their databases should start automatically locking themselves soon, not be unlocked until tomorrow, or until someone managed to hack them, but Mikari didn't want to look at her watch so as to not hint at anything.
"Bonus mission..." Mikari would prefer a gil bonus, but if a mission was the way to obtain it then that was the way to go.

"Oh, they've developed technology that can organize Reno-files?" Hikou murmured a bit too loudly to be to herself. "Will wonders never cease?"
Her hands twitched at a loss for a moment, before folding behind her back neatly. Leaning over Snow's shoulder, she scanned the information. Unable to suppress a theatrical sigh, she asked, "Are we taking prisoners?"
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: MikariStar on December 25, 2007, 12:29:35 PM
Mikari shrugged, lack of organization had never been an issue for her.
"But they're whinny!" Mikari complained before she was even officially told to take prisoners. "Are we?" She was tempted to add 'and if yes, does it matter if they're unconscious?'
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]
Post by: Snow on December 26, 2007, 01:56:10 PM
"I think it would be easier to take prisoners." Snow noted. She flipped through some of the pages. "Leader never said we couldn't, and," Snow continued as though they were walking out of the building rather than standing in Tseng's office. "He did want reliable data. I think a prisoner or two might be beneficial."
Tseng cleared his throat.
"Leader, leader." Snow replied, "We are working for public safety. Don't worry. We're just taking a few priso--witnesses who might be tro-....helpful. Not killing anyone." She rolled her eyes. "Besides," she called from the doorway, "You didn't give us details on the 'bonus' mission."
Tseng stood to protest. "Snow!"
"You're breaking up~ I can't hear you!" She shook her head and continued down the hall, knowing that Hikou and Mikari would be close behind.

Hikou tried her hardest to bow out gracefully, but found the situation quite beyond her, and was left to scamper after Snow much like a child. The click of her heels haulted quite abruptly from a run to an even pace as she pulled to the side of the girl.
"So where should we start? I vote Midgar wreckage."

"Midgar wreckage... I'm fine wherever we start really, as long as it's not some jungle in the middle of nowhere. Where ever there's a wireless signal I'm willing to go."

"You get a signal under the plate?" Hikou questioned.

"Yeah, not the full signal but this will do. Shinra really needs to improve this, get a satellite out there or something." For some time, Mikari had been wishing that the Turks got their own satellite. Actually, she wanted a one for herself, but one to be shared by the Turks seemed more likely to happen, eventually... maybe.

"Hah!" Hikou guffawed. "A satelite. Let me know when you ask Rufus about that one. I wanna be there."
Quickly, she made inventory of what she was equipped with. "I'll need to go back to the locker room to get my things. I'm hardly Midgar-ready. I'll meet you in the garage... or are we going to take the Chocobos?"

Snow made no comment about the signal. What could she say? Snow had hte strong belief that since they were Turks they could get anything they needed - with or without Rufus's approval. She glanced at Hikou at the mention of Chocobo. "Garage, I'd think. Less time consuming that way." she replied. If they were going to the wreckage a truck or something would be nicer than those moody birds. Chocobo were more versatile though, they at least could climb. "I'll go to the locker room with you." Snow added, "I need to make sure I have everything." She looked at the two, "Do you think chocobo would be better?"

Hikou shook her head adamently.
"Those birds can't stand me," she hissed as she headed off down the hallway. Her fingers ghosted over the smooth metal rat-trap that was the Healing and Rejuvenation floor. The locker rooms would be just around the corner. Hikou silently hoped she had remembered to lock hers.

"He so cheap, I'm sure that if he cut the restoration budget, Shinra could afford it. Let the planet fix itself!" As far as Mikari was concerned, spending a single gil on the planet was as bad as throwing it away if not worse.
"I'll tag along too!" She followed the other Turks to the healing and rejuvenation center, might as well check her locker just in case.
"I've never has any bad experiences with chocobos." She had never thought about it before but it was an irony. "Isn't it odd? I'm probably the one who dislikes nature the most but I've never had any chocobo problems."

Hikou rolled her eyes. "If he cut the restoration budget there wouldn't be a Shinra Inc and then we'd all be out of a job."
She huffed at her open locker, quickly thumbing through the wallet she'd left in there for gil, and checking the clip in her gun. "Not only would the people start one of their lovely little uprisings, but Cloud would be on top of us in half an instant." The wallet fit nicely into her pocket, then gun in the holster on her hip, and a few marbles of materia were added to the bangle hidden up her sleeve. "I can't imagine all of our little underground enemies standing and watching pleasantly, either. We'd have more trouble than even the Turks know what to do with."

"Our job could be to make sure Shinra isn't destroyed... or hunting down Avalanche, or something cool like that." It was obvious that she wasn't too fond of Avalanche.
"It's just so easy to squish them all and move on to more important things. They're hindering Shinra's progress. Besides," Mikari grinned evilly, "there is more than one way to deal with Cloud, the most effective being to push him into becoming emotionally unstable, and it would be his own fault." She chuckled and continued to grin, but quickly regain a neutral expression so she wouldn't creep out her companions further. "Oi, I really have nothing against him, good boy, makes timely deliveries, I just like satellites."
She opened her locker and looked around it's contents. She usually carried all the materia she needed, but there was that one other thing she could take along...

A bottle of painkillers rattled as Hikou picked it up and crammed two down her throat without much of a fuss.
"You're missing the point," she argued. "We wouldn't--Hauggggh." It was a bizzare mixture of a sigh and snarl. Idly, she fished another two pills out of the bottle and swallowed. "Hmph. I could think of plenty of ways to deal with Cloud."
With that, her locker snapped abrupty shut. "Are we ready?"

Mikari grinned, a mischievous spark in her eyes, "I'm sure you could."
Mikari grabbed the long shiny item she lad been eyeing in her locker and waved it around. "It's new," The electrorod was the standard silver, though the handle was blue instead of black.
She clicked a tiny switch at the handle with her thumb and the end of the rod emitted electric sparks. "It's all charged up and ready to be used. I want to play with it," by that she meant to say I want to knock the living daylights out of someone with this electrorod. At least with this she would be less dangerous to her teammates, bad aim and all.

Mikari activated the electrorod again, admiring the sparks. "What do you mean? Isn't this safer than having me try to use a gun?" She ran a hand on the new shiny, silver metal. "Besides, it looks so nice and new, it's just begging to be used. Maybe we'll run into some mutants!" Not that Mikari particularly liked mutants, but they were certainly not her least favorite kind of creature in the world, frogs were, which why she made sure she had the necessary equipment to avoid being turned into one, just in case.

"I trust her more with an electric stick than with a fire arm." Snow chimed in lightly. "I don't care one way or another about what we do so long as I get paid for it." She gave a shrug and shut her locker. "I don't like chocobo much, but they are much more flexible than vehicles." She grimaced. "It might be cheaper in the long run to get a chocobo or two. It would keep us out longer." she had only grabbed some materia from her locker before heading out after Hikou and Mikari. Her boots clicked along the tiles. Suddenly she felt as though she were not cut out for her job. She tried to banish the thoughts, it could have just been anxiety from the idea of having to ride a chocobo again.

Hikou sighed in defeat. "I suppose..."
Standing, once more, inside of the glass elevator, Hikou's hand hesitated on the pannel of numbers. "Say," she couldn't stop the grin from spreading across her face, "you think Rufus would mind if we borrowed some of the prize winners from upstairs?" Her finger hovered on one of the higher levels. "I mean, this is a very, very important mission, right? And we can't just be using any old chocobo..."

"I don't know if would mind or not, but let's take them anyway!" Good Turks were hard to find, Rufus couldn't afford to fire any at the moment, and like any good Turk, Mikari wanted to take advantage of the situation.

Snow shifted uncomfortably in the elevator. Her ears perked up at the mention of Rufus. Even he was a godsend to keep her mind off of being in the elevator. "If he thinks we're going to go all the way to the Chocobo farm, he's dumber than he looks." She crossed her arms and prayed they were almost out, seconds in an elevator seemed like hours to her. "Technically we'll save him money by using the company's best. For that, should he come to us about, he should be grateful."

"You're absolutely right," she agreed. "In fact, he should give us all a nice bonus, or a vacation!" "Right," Hikou nodded, looking more as if she were trying to convince herself than actually speak to the other girls.
The metal doors eventually parted ways, revealing a metal rat-tunnel big enough for at least four grown men to walk abreast in. Hikou proceeded onward, trying to ignore the annoying clicking sound her shoes made on the ground, and the way it amplified and echoed down the hallway. She didn't have to walk long before she reached the first set of doors, the familiar red light barring entrance above the doorway.
There were at least twenty stables, that all looked rather like the containment cells that used to be counted as part of Dr. Hojo's laboratories.
Fishing out her keycard, Hikou clicked her way to the fourth door on the right and slid it. The light flash green, and a whir of grinding gears sent the metal door spiraling upward, revealing a seemingly empty room. It was much too dark to actually see what was inside, but the florescent light of the hallway caught on one single, black, beady eye, and the girl had to force herself not to shudder.
The bird stepped forward.
Hikou had a fairly good idea how hard it would be to be threatening if she were colored a pale mint green, but Sypher did a spectacular job. The animal wasted no movement, every step on its razor-sharp talons, elegant and graceful. It moved more like a raptor than a chocobo ought to, and she supposed that was why he was one of the leading S-Class chocobos, but it still gave her the creeps.
"Hey, buddy..." she greeted weakly, and held her hand out. The bird took a snap at it.
Well, at least she wouldn't have to worry about defending it from the monsters of Old Midgar, but who was going to defend her?

Mikari ran to end of the room and opened a door rushing into the room, his boots noisy on the floor. She came out with a large bowl of quality greens and set it down in from of the seventh stable, then opened it with her keycard. "You're so cute and blue! I brought food for you."
The chocobo started eating. Mikari let him enjoy the food for a few seconds before petting him. It tensed up at first and gave her a threatening look. "Cutie!" A few sparks escaped her electro-rod as she squealed in delight, or evil, it was hard to tell.
Then the chocobo went back to eating and ignoring the girl who was petting him. "Hurry up and finish your snack Arquan, we need to get going soon."

As confident as she wanted to be, she swore that if that bird took a snap at her she would be sending it to an early grave. She pulled her card key from her jacket ignoring the sound of her boots. It was a steady pace, an almost comforting sound. With a sigh the key slid and lit up the locked door. It opened, much to her dismay. Snow hissed. "Thanatos."
His black eyes peered out. Today, she thought, he looked somewhat different. Calm almost. It could be that her hand held an ice spell should he move too fast or provoke her. It could have been the scent of greens brought for Arquan. Whatever the case, Snow was not expecting Thanatos to be...loving? The black bird rubbed his head against her nearly bowling her over.
"What the..?" she hardly had time to stammer before he nudged her again. For a bird, he seemed quite skilled in screwing with people's minds. With narrowed eyes Snow hissed again.

Hikou wasted no time in pleasantries or surprises, instead opting to saddle the bird from behind as quickly as humanly possible with as little bloodshed necessary. It was short work, and soon the green monstrosity was being gently tugged to prowl out of the room next to the girl, blinders secured over his evil little eyes.
Quietly, so as not to alarm the little beasty, she whispered, "We ought to take them to the freight elevator where they ship up the feed, and leave out the doors of the loading bay. It'll cause less of a commotion that way."
Sypher's head cocked abruptly to one side, his beak giving two warning clicks.
"Scary little nuts, innit he?" Hikou asked and gave him a slow pull forward.

"Aw he likes you!" Mikari petted Arquan, "c'mon pal finish up." Once the chocobo was done with his greens Mikari led him out. "I think they're cute little chocos." She followed the other Turks, ready to leave on the mission.

Sypher stalked forward, Hikou walking alongside him to the end of the hallway. The animal's head gave a sharp turn as it sensed the girl walk around behind it, and it's taloned foot raised off the ground in warning. His beak may have been temporarily put out of commission from the riding gear, but Sypher still knew how to make the most of the weapons he was graced with.
Pressing the "up" button, Hikou waited patiently for the whirring of gears around her to raise the dimly lit platform that was the freight elevator. As it arrived, the chain-link wall in front of it split apart into two separate gates, one tucking underneath the doorway and one above it. Even after all movement ceased, it still took the gears a moment to stop their turning. The dim light hanging from the ceiling of the elevator swung silently from side to side, casting one side of the platform in darkness and then another.
Hikou groaned.
The thing was still half filled with feed. Trust the Shinra grunts to actually do their job.
Regardless, Hikou led her bird forward, pretending not to notice as he made to perch himself onto one of the expensive sacks, ripping a new hole open with every step. "Well, c'mon," she urged, "let's go.

Mikari kept petting Arquan as she remembered an article she read about how to pet chocobos. It wasn't something she would normally read, but she had paperwork to ignore at the moment.
Arquan pecked at the feed. He wasn't particularly hungry, having recently finished eating some greens, but if you put feed in front of a chocobo, even if it has a full stomach, it'll will try to eat some.
Mikari led the blue chocobo away, following after Hikou.

Snow followed silently. Too many lifts and elevators seemingly broke her voice in two. She would just be happy when they got out of the Shinra building. It was a great company to be sure, but sometimes it felt too cage like. She didn't remember the path out being so long. She stepped over some feed only to step in some more. She let out a sigh as she led Thanatos forward.

"Relax Snow, we're nearly there," Mikari noticed Snow's dislike for elevators, it was quite hard to miss. Hikou appear to be particularly happy about it either. "I'm the only one who likes elevators..." Mikari concluded. "Unless the chocobo like them too," but it looked like they only liked the feed.

The elevator came to a jerky halt, the chain link gates sliding open once again to reveal the cold cement of the loading dock. Cold air hissed into the room in short bursts underneath another large metal door.
Purposefully, Hikou strode forward and pushed a button on the wall, sending a new set of gears into motion, pulling the metal curtain up to reveal the city outside. Sypher trotted behind the girl, giving small warning snaps every few moments. Doing her best to get onto the chocobo without losing an arm, the girl set out through the city.
People stopped to stare as chocobos were beginning to become few and far between in the city scene. It wasn't until the wasteland of the world outside came into view.
"I wonder how long it'll take for all the vegetation to grow back," she breathed.
The Midgar ruins weren't far from the city of Edge, and at the sight of them from the city limits a giddy sort of anticipation burrowed out of the back of Hikou's mind. It felt almost like going home.
She set out for the old city.

Mikari followed Hikou at the loading dock and paused to look at Arquan. "Okay, pal, time for you to give me a ride," without much hesitation, she hoped on the chocobo's back, the large blue bird protesting when she held on to his wig to get on with long nails. "Sorry Arquan..." The blue chocobo looked displeased, but the girl on his back merely smile and showed off her electro-rod with shiny sparks. The chocobo wasn't stupid, it left the incident in the past and strode out into the city.
"Not long enough," Mikari breathed the city air, which was to her disappointment less city-like than when the plates were up and the mako reactors were operational. She didn't like nature, the less trees and plants near her, the better.

Snow's nerves were much easier calmed once they were outside. She glanced back at Edge only once. She would be glad to get away from all the people for a few hours. The idea of visiting the ruins of her once beloved city were not comforting, but the feelings it stirred in nostalgia gave her hope. She rode along side of her companions.
"Considering we were draining the planet, I'd imagine it will take some time. It's not just the vegetation that needs to come back." Snow mused. She looked forward. It had been too long since she had visited Midgar.

"That's good to hear. If it takes five hundred years it'll be too soon." Funny how people sometimes made it sound as if draining the life of the planet was bad. It's not like the planet talked or anything, it was to Mikari, more like energy than life; energy that could be made useful in making life easier.
She didn't like the idea of plants eventually taking over Midgar ruins, she liked cities, though she did not like people, but she liked the buildings, the covered grass-less ground and the feeling of being able to put the raw materials nature provided into good use, into something better.

There was about a ten second span, long enough for Hikou to breathe, before her bird took off into a break-neck run. She did her best to pretend she'd coaxed the creature to do that, digging her fingers into the leather of the reins and watching the scenery flit by in blurred snapshots of dust and rock.
She could remember far enough back that the cliffs surrounding the city were covered in green, and for a brief instant she wasn't on a testy chocobo, she was in that terribly designed Shinra Transport truck with men uniformed in blue.
More like boys.
Boys that were most likely long since dead.
And it was in this way, on this ghost train to no where, that Midgar managed to sneak up on her in all its hulking glory.
Sypher was stomping angrily, scaley feet nearly avoiding broken glass at every angle. It lead a fantastic trail of dim sparkles to the glass wall that had once been the gate to Sector 7. It was supposed to be unbreakable, but Hikou supposed the desperation of a couple hundred refugees would've been more than enough to break it. The wreckage of the plate drop would've been a nice heap of scrap metal they could've dragged over to the ramshackle city on the edge of Midgar.
It was the most logical access point, but the most difficult path.
She dismounted and said, "I hope you guys don't mind getting dirty. Most of the Sector 7 wreckage is pretty well picked over, so we can squeeze up and out into Sector 8. The old Shinra building has an underground access point down there for SOLDIER use. I think that'd be the most comfortable place to hide out if I were a terrorist. There's gotta be a lot of untouched weaponry and whatnot in there, god knows whatever else Hojo left behind, some of the old files maybe..." Taking out her gun, she rechecked the round in it.
"Then again, I've heard tell the old Don in Wall Market had a lot of unregistered copies of our files, most likely still intact since they'd have to have been portable to take out of our main database. Less weapon options to support a terrorist group, but a helluva lot more homey, and quite a few less creepy crawlies." Satisfied, she lowered the gun to her side.
"We could always cut through what's left of the Train Graveyard, pop out right ontop of whose his face's old mansion..." She shrugged. "Take your pick."

Mikari watched as Hikou and Sypher sped away. Actually, it was just Sypher running away full speed, Hikou just happened to be sitting on him, and it looked like fun.
"Go Arquan, run!" No sooner had the girl encouraged the large bird, it was already speeding in the same direction as Sypher. Mikari held on tightly but she was amused. Arquan however, did not appreciate the tight embrace around his neck. Though Mikari liked chocobos and held no fear from them, and no bad experiences to relate, that did not mean she was an expert chocobo rider; but she had fun.
"Run Arquan, faster!" She lessened her grip while Arquan tried to been his neck more than was healthy to get the strangling hand off him. He pecked at the electro-rod the girl held and let out a wark of complaint. "Silly I told you it was dangerous." No problem, should the initial effect of the green bribery ware off on the bird, he could be controlled the Turks way, -that- would be fun.
Mikari took a moment to have a mini battle with Arquan until he understood the meaning of "bend down so I can get off".
She finally got off teasing or threatening, as it could be seen differently depending on one's point of view, the chocobo with the electro-rod. It went from that to waving the rod left and right with the chocobo mimicking it with his neck as if in a trance, until it later calmed. "there now, be a good boy."
She looked around the wreckage. "Looks messy up both ways, I would say which ever is the fastest. I have the worse sense of direction here, I'm sure, so I'm fine with any choice you make."

True enough she and her chocobo did not get along. They seemed reach a mutual agreement. The quicker he was the less time she had to ride. It was beneficial for both. Still Snow muttered a few swears to Thanatos as he took off similarly to Sypher. Snow dismounted with a definitive lack of grace, she nearly fell on her face, if not for the fact her foot was caught in the reins she would have most likely broken her own nose on her dismount.
"Alexander, why me?" she muttered. Chocobo were one bad experience after the other. She caught up with the conversation straightened her jacket and pants and crossed her arms. "We'll have to go through all of them at some point, won't we?" She stepped forward and contemplated. "How about we start at the old building." there was a pause, "I'd want to see what I was up against if I were dumb enough to go against Shinra. Its remains might be the best place to start. I'd also like to know if Hojo did leave anything behind. It'd be better to know now instead of...later."
She may have sounded paranoid, but it was her experience that monsters grew. Better to find something now then to give a few days when it may be larger, angrier, and much harder to fight.

"Plate-dump it is," Hikou chirped, eyes trailing across the poorly beaten path through the wreckage. She eyed Sypher warily, "Stay."
He snapped back.
With a huff she stomped off through the dust, kicking chunks of glass the size of baseballs out of her way as she went.
"You know," the girl thought out loud, "I haven't seen headquarters since the old President Shinra..."

"Don't run away Arquan. Stay right here and wait for us with your chocobo friends. I still think we can get along, I'll give you green when we get back, just be a good choboco." She knew the large blue bird would not answer, and possibly didn't understand or didn't care, but Mikari spoke to him anyway.
Soon after she hastily took off following the other two Turks. "If something was left behind, I hope it's something fun, like a cool invention; one that doesn't want to eat us."

Trying to ignore her poor footing, Hikou did her best to scale a rather large piece of metal blocking their path. The edge of it bit into her fingers as she hauled herself up onto the top, a long slice running through the leg of her suit as she moved over it, but the girl didn't really seem to much notice.
She paused to glance at Mikari. "Anything left behind would probably have been mako-powered, how would you propose we run it?" And with that dropped off the other edge, a faint scuff of boots on dirt marking her fall before she jogged onwards.
Ahead the ceiling narrowed down to a small angle, and one could safely assume this was the tilt at which the upper plate had fallen to rest. Crushed metal of tin shacks and stands of the slums formed a harsh and rusted wall, leaving only the crunched and darkened path sandwiched between the two plates open for access to Sector 8.
Hikou sighed, waiting for her team mates. "Anyone got a pen-light or something?"

"I propose we suck all the mako off this giant battery we're standing on," That was what the planet was to Mikari, if it's not useful to humans, then make it useful, and if it cannot be made useful, throw it away. Her world revolved around herself and a few other close friends. She felt disappointed in the human race when it failed to claim the superior position that intelligence should provide. Maybe Sephiroth's idea wasn't so bad, suck the battery dry, then find another one and repeat the process. For all she knew that could have been Jenova's genius concept; and by the time it all dried up, she would be long since dead after one or two hundred years passed, so it wouldn't be her problem. Consequences that didn't affect her where simply not there, it was part of her Turks way.
Mikari looked at the large piece of metal, trying to find the best angle to scale it from. Took a pair of leather gloves from her pocket to make her grip on the metal more comfortable and tried to start scaling it, making slow progress following Hikou; and for a moment she considered having Arquan carry her, but he and the other chocobos would probably result too noisy.
"Pen light..." Mikari should have known something was forgotten. Her phs could produce light, but it was only enough to see the screen. The sparks from the electro-rod provided a little light, but it wasn't enough. "Materia..." Comet, one of her favorites, lightning good for recharging electric appliances, no fire... "Did anyone bring some fire materia?"

Hikou shook her head, trying her best to ignore Mikari's comment. It was pretty obvious where she stood on the subject of mako depletion, and it was a difficult topic for Hikou to take a side on. The girl had seen many a man, and friend, die to support and upkeep the old reactors. She'd been raised with the old Shinra mentality of power and conquest.
But she'd also seen the horrors that power and conquest brought, and she'd seen the SOLDIER mutations, all made possible by mako.
Yet here she was. Still standing in the Shinra uniform, just one in a different shade.
It was easier just to sit in the middle and not think about it.
"I left it behind since last time. I absolutely cannot stand that smell."

"I thought it was a nice scent..." The smell of flowers and perfume wasn't quite Mikari's thing. She very much proffered the scent of machines and mataria, a scent that reminded her of the things she liked.
"Maybe if I throw some electricity around something will catch on fire." Though she was only kidding this time, is wasn't something that should be thrown into the real of impossibility with this girl, impatient as she could be, she often did not measure consequences too far.

Hikou smiled ridiculously wide, tapping her own folder against her chin thoughtfully. "Tseng can take his paperwork and jump off of the building, but you also didn't hear it from me." She cast a wicked glance at the white coats bustling around, resting on Mikari. "I suppose that means we can be done here, hm? Maybe I ought to just slip this under the door, but I want a new assignment." She looked hopefully to Snow. "He didn't happen to give you a new one, did he?"
Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]

Mikari shrugged, lack of organization had never been an issue for her.
"But they're whinny!" Mikari complained before she was even officially told to take prisoners. "Are we?" She was tempted to add 'and if yes, does it matter if they're unconscious?'

"I guess that could work..." Mikari hurried out after Snow.
"Midgar wreckage... I'm fine wherever we start really, as long as it's not some jungle in the middle of nowhere. Where ever there's a wireless signal I'm willing to go."

Title: Re: FFVII: Turks RP [PG-13]

"Right," Hikou nodded, looking more as if she were trying to convince herself than actually speak to the other girls.
