What Final Fantasy games have you played?
Here are mine, in order:
PS1 Final Fantasy VII: played it after watching Advent Children. It's my top favorite RPG thought I admit it wouldn't be in the top without Advent Children. The movie was what made me become interested in the game.
GBA Final Fantasy: It's a remake but it went far beyond other games when it was first made. It's still pretty good as a remake though I never liked the crystal centric plots.
GBA Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: my second favorite FF game so far after FFVII. I didn't like it the first time because of how you needed to move around during battle and that you don't really get to run around the town. Later I gave it a second chance and came to like it.
GBA Final Fantasy V It was ok, predictable and I don't like crystal centric plots but then again I'm holding it against FFVII, Chrono Trigger and Lufia II so that's hard competition. It had too many jobs, I never used them all and didn't like the job overload. Unlike the first three I didn't play this until finishing it. I took long breaks in between.
PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics I liked that the plot isn't about crystals. It's a a revolution-war plot, at least it's better than a crystal plot. It had a lot of jobs and the leveling up was slow. Very nice graphics but not enough interaction with the towns. I stopped playing near the end because I got bored leveling up. I read the ending script and saw screen shots plus a video of the ending CG movie so I didn't miss much, and I know about the guest apperance of a certain someone...
GBA Final Fantasy VI I heard a lot about this and finally got around to play it. Actually I just started. I want to work on my fics, and do my part to help up at fos, I also have tests so progress will be very slow with this one. Maybe I'll play for an hour everyday and finish it eventually, unless I get bored and take a break. I can't say if I like it or not yet, it's way too soon. So far it looks good but FFVII, Chrono Trigger and Lufia II are still better.

Eh... I have to admit, I haven't played many.
PS2 Final Fantasy X It was the first one I ever played, and it was rather nice. I can't really say much else about it.
Yeah, that's about the only one I've played. [sheepish grin] But, I've seen the movie, and I've read a lot about the other games, so I do know about them. (Other games being Final Fantasy VII and that's it.)

You should play FFVII if you get the chance.

XD Oh snap! Here we go~ GBA: Final Fantasy Played it and beat it. Short sweet and simple. Nintendo: Final Fantasy Played it, not too fond of having to hold reset and power to turn it off. XD Pretty much the same as the GBA remake. GBA: Final Fantasy II Played part of it, wasn't very itnerested. DS: Final Fantasy III Nice graphics, job class battle system. I actually really like this one. Ingus is pretty. Anyone can be any class. PS1: Final Fantasy IV Played a long time ago. Job class is specific to certain characters. Edge is pretty. PS1: Final Fantasy V Another Job class based game, III and V are similar in battle systems, but this one's is a little more flexible. You still need to collect crystal shards. But Krile is cute. And Ferris is awesome. Pirate are cool. :'D PS1: Final Fantasy VI This is the on with...Locke? XD HAH! I never got every far to the first part with some moogles. XP PS1: Final Fantasy VII My first and favorite. It has Vincent and Materia and is therefore twice as cool. This was the first ever battle system I learned how to abuse. I could go on and on about this game, but I'll spare the details and sum up with I've loved Vincent Valentine for 10 years. PS1: Final Fantasy VIII Not as good as VII, in my opinion. The battle system was more difficult to figure out. But once I figured it out, no one can beat me. Is it bad that my boys can absorb every element? XD PS1: Final Fantasy IX Perhaps my least favorite. I liked some of the characters, I found the story to be a bit slow and I didn't like the Skill system. I've played it a couple of times, I like it more than I used too. PS1: Final Fantasy Tactics Played for like and hour and got bored because it as too easy. :x PS2: Final Fantasy X Lovely graphics. I don't hate the game but the battle system was too easy to abuse and made everything really easy. XD The story line was nice but ended badly. I like to play blitzball. PS2: Final Fantasy X-2 I'd say this was more fan service. I like the fact that the entire party is girls. It is job class centered and the story doesn't completely stink. It's very short though. It actually wraps up X if you get the right amount of completion points or have met certain requirements. I'm mad because they messed up blitzball. XD PS2: Final Fantasy XII XD OMA, right now I love it. Basch and I had a falling out. He's benched. The battle system seems horrible but really isn't so bad. And I adore Fran and Balthier. XD Skyrates for the win. With the right points everyone can learn to use every weapon and armour (Trust me...I'm abusing this XD) as well as techniques. The hunts are a nice distraction from the story line (so is Balthier and his leather pants X3) SO BASICALLY. ; *cough* I've played every Final Fantasy to day. With the exception of XI because it was an MMORPG. ;; XD;;

I like Krile's white mage neko cape thing.
VI has Locke. It's pretty good but I don't like that there are so many characters and only a little plot for each. It would have been better with less characters with more background. I need to finish it, almost done.
I find Tactics to be too repetitive. Later on you have to level up a lot and it gets really repetitive, plus there the movement is limited. I want to run around the towns freely. I heard Cloud is in it. There's also a girl who looks like Aeris and sells flowers.
You missed Tactics Advanced too. XD But you played almost all of them. ^^

hokay, here we go. I'll try to play these in order of which I played them.
Final Fantasy II: This was actually Final Fantasy IV, but released as II in North America for whatever reason. It's what started my love for RPGs and eventually anime. It was my brothers and he just rented it, I didn't get to play it too much sadly.
Final Fantasy III: aka FFVI in NA. Again, I didn't get to play it too much. I remember, for its time, the graphics blew me away...seeing actual perspective in the opening as they were walking towards Narshe...that was one of my earliest fanboy moments. Got fairly far, but again, didn't beat it as it wasn't mine.
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest: Thought to be Final Fantasy I on the SNES...though I don't think it counts. I think it was a part of a different series in Japan..they just named it wrongly here.
Final Fantasy VII: It's sad. Really sad. I didn't own this game until after I beat it and mastered it practically. I borrowed it from my neighbour for like..half a year ^^;; Eventually bought it off a friend for 20 bucks. First FF game I beat.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The original playstation tactics game. I borrowed it from my cousin (for a ridiculously long amount of time, as the game took me around 50ish hours back then). Great game, though I didn't really follow the story too well. Lots of fun playing it though. I liked forming strategies and such.
Final Fantasy VIII: Oh dear god, I pined for this game like it were a long lost love. And when I finally played it, I was in pure bliss. I couldn't imagine the graphics getting any better at the time. I played this somewhat religiously. Like...i'd beat it, then without turning the power off, I'd start a new game and play it all over again.
Final Fantasy IX: The nostalgia factor made me smile, and there were plenty of lovable characters. Vivi, Amarant, Freya and Beatrix were among my favorites.
Final Fantasy X: Bought with my first ever paycheck, along with my PS2 and memory card. Everything cost me just over 600 bucks altogether. I was not disappointed. Though, to this day, I still have not mastered that game.
Final Fantasy X-2: I try my best to forget this one existed...
Final Fantasy IV: I believe it was FF:Chronicles that I found first. It was the remake on the playstation that came with Chrono Trigger. Finally got to see the end. Game felt short, but was it ever so sweet.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced: I loved the original PS FFT, so this one was a no brainer. Naturally, I loved this one too. The main character wasn't really anything special, though the gameplay was fun as hell. I even wrote an article/blurb on it in the yearbook ;p
Final Fantasy VI: Finally got around to playing/beating this one. It was the playstation version (FF:Anthology). FFVI has been a major contender for my all time favorite FF. Even more so than FF7 at some point..though now I say 7 takes it. But I just loved this game. A lot.
Final Fantasy VII - Dirge of Cerberus: Does this one count? Oh well, I'll count it. Vincent is badass. If I were a chick, I'd so be competing with Snow for him.
Final Fantasy XII: Shiny new FF on PS2? Yes please! God, Fran is hot.
Final Fantasy III: One of the main reasons why I got a Nintendo DS (though not the only by far). Story was seriously lacking, but all in all, it was a fun game. I liked sending moogle mail to Pengtwin <3 Never did get any from Cherri D:
Final Fantasy XII - Revenant Wings: Sequel to FFXII, of course I had to play it. Fran wasn't as hot in cartoon form =(
Final Fantasy Tactics - War of the Lions: A remake of the original FFTactics I played all those years ago. They redid the storyline, which I now love. Everything else remained as awesome as ever. Even better since they included extras like balthier and multiplayer mode. Now if only I had someone to play...
Final Fantasy V: I actually forgot I had this...for...like...probably nearly a decade. I'm in the process of playing it now. So far I like, but the abilities and job classes leave more to be desired. Faris is shiny and awesome.
The only final fantasy games that I can think of that I haven't played (yet) are FF, FFII, FFXI and Crystal Chronicles. Also, a bunch of the spinoffs, such as Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon and such. I have played demos of Ehrgeiz (A fighting game with Cloud, Tifa and Sephiroth in it) and Chocobo racing (suprisingly fun)
Man, that was a lot of typing/nostalgia.

FFVII is my all time favorite, and the reason why I started liking FF. I saw it as generic (let's find the crystals, change the characters call it a new story and find the crystals again) and with poor graphics back then (compared to other SNES games like Lufia and Chrono Trigger). I still find FFVII to be the most original out of the ones I've played, with Tactics Advance coming in second place. But by now I have learned to appreciate the older FFs and don't dislike them anymore. FVII is my favorite RPG, then Chrono Trigger, Lufia II and Tactics Advance in forth.

Pengtwin if you had to compete with me for Vincent, I'd be sad. XD So I'm glad you were born a boy! <3 Also I didn't count Dirge of Cerberus in mine, but I played nad beat it and am working on Tactics Advance and I also have the PSP remake of Tactics, as well as the PSP remake of the first one. Also got Revenant Wings. So I have more to play~

butbutbut...FFVI didn't have any crystals. It was about an oppressed people, starting a revolution to take down a maniac clown who destroys the world. And Espers who were exploited for their abilities.
I don't even know how I would rank all my favorite RPGs together. Lunar would DEFINITELY be second after Final Fantasy though. I'd also need to find spots for Grandia, Chrono Trigger, Kingdom Hearts, etc.
Haha don't worry Pengtwin, Vincent is all yours =P
After FFV, I'm all out of FF games to play ._. So I wants I and II on PSP. Then I need to get a PS3 by winter somehow so I can get FFXIII....

I think they traded the statues for the crystals in that one. FFVII had them in the form of huge materia. I only played Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories and it's more of an action RPG than a full RPG in my opinion. Terranigma was also good but also an action RPG.

Hmm but I don't think the statues were as important. In previous games, it was more or less all about the statues. In FFVI it was all about the Espers and people. I mean, I never even associated the statues with the crystals before ^^;
And yeah, KH is more action RPGishly....but an Action RPG is still an RPG. It's right there in the name. RPG. *nod nods, trying to look like I know what I'm talking about*

I'm just trying to find the crystals or a reference to the crystals somewhere. Maybe Culex took them... In Mario RPG for the SNES you can open a hidden door to find a "warrior from another world" and challenge him. He has the crystals and uses them to attack, the music is the same from FF.
How about this: KH in my favorite action RPG and FFVII is my favorite RPG RPG. XD Terranigma is my second favorite action RPG.

It's quite sad...I never did get to play super mario RPG. It's on my list of games I must someday play...along with the paper mario games ._.;
And yes, that work for favorites. Specifics aren't overly necessary though. You like what you like, and that's all there is to it =D

It's a big one on my list, that's for sure. Don't know about the top though ^^; I've never really been a die hard Mario fan.
D: I've been trying to get the SNES emulator for my PSP, but with no luck. *Doesn't want to downgrade my firmware to get it working* And I just hate gaming on my comp for some reason...*still not sure why* Maybe it's just not comfortable enough...maybe if I had a recliner or more comfy chair...

This game actually has a plot that most other Mario games don't have. It even makes fun of having to save Peach so many times, but this time saving Peach isn't the final goal.
I love comp gaming. I have a strong dislike for pretty much every controller made after SNES. With the N64 and PS1 they started making the weird one that you can't put down flat on a table andthe handle gets in the way to hold it with my thumbs so I can play with my fingers... I need to use at least 6 fingers, there are too many buttons and I don't want to switch between them, plus I need to press more than 3 at once sometimes.

Hmm it's no the lack of plot...the Mario games make up for that with uber fun gameplay. I just don't trust him as a character for whatever reason. Maybe it's the mustache. It's as though he's hiding something behind there...<.<;;
Also, since I was a kid, I kind of always thought of him as a drug addict. I may have been young, but I still knew what shrooms were. And the ecstacy star tablets, that caused him to see bright shiny lights everywhere, move fast and think he's invincible...*shakes head*
I had a Sega Genesis as a kid...I game with my thumbs, so I found the sega controller to be kind of uncomfortable. I still remember the first time I held a playstation controller. Never before had anything felt so comfortable in my hand. I mean...c'mon! I don't remember what I did last week, but I remember the very first time I held a PS controller? It was true love at first sight...*nod nods*
*goes on about how I met my love at a Sony Store and had been inseparable ever since..*

They make fun of the mustache in the game too. O.o;; XD I never thought of Mario as a drug addict ^^;;
I like gaining with the keyboard. I set it up to have the buttons on the a s d q w e z x c keys so they're far from the arrow keys. It's so comfortable to have lots of room for my hands.
