It was a bright and sunny afternoon in Ecruteak City. At least, that's how Syd would have loved to start the first day of the Pokemon school. However, contrary to his popular belief, he did not have control over the weather. And no amount of dancing or singing would change that. Sadly, as that came from Lex, Syd refused to believe it and continued his hyper, spastic, sunshine dance in the middle of the second floor cafeteria. Alex and Morty (the Gym Leader for Ecruteak) watched in a mixture of awe and shock as the man cursed the rain.
Morty was there for the grand opening of the school, as well as to return Alex's missing keys to him. He hoped to see a bright future for the school.
"It ain't workin'." Syd finally conceded after havig been dancing and singing since four AM. Now at eight, they waited for the first day to start. And despite the rain, everyone was feeling pretty good.
In all honesty, Alex could not blame Syd's over abundant energy. He was just as excited, although betterr at hiding it.
One week before the school started each student was sent an upgraded Pokedex. Not only did it work as a data recorder for pokemon, it also doubled as practically everything else. It was specified to each child's favorite color, and had a glass covering that could be used to help it stand, seeming more like a laptop or notebook of somesort rather than a Pokedex. Along with the encyclopedia was a tablet, for drawing and notes. A pokemon status checker, letting you know how the pokemon inyour party were fairing, a berry checker for all the berries you may have planted, a map, a day planner, a calender and your schedule. With them all you could use the stylus to customize the screens and personalize it. It was your best friend.
The schedule was the first function upon start up of the little gadget.
Monday: Student introduction and Dorm Assignments Get aquainted with your Pokemon and the school Normal monday classes: Pokemon Care - Sydra Phantom
Tuesday: Music - Sydra Phantom Math English First Aid - Alexander Sydra
Wednesday: Breeding - Samantha Bennate
Thursday: History Science Art
Friday: Battling - Alexander Sydra Strategy - Samantha Bennate
Saturday: Field Trips - Any and perhaps all teachers
Sunday: Resting
The schedule was pretty loose, no times were given. It was expected that students and teachers would be at the classes at 8:00 AM everyday. The classes would last from then until 12:00 PM at lunch. Except for Tuesdays ad Thursdays which then continued from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. It would also be covered in the small seminar that was going to be given once the students showed up.
Alex sat at the nearest table. He could imagine his grandfather showing up some time and telling how bad a job he was doing. While he didn't want to listen to doubts, he just...couldn't help it.
Syd plopped down next to his friend, "Don't worry about things." Alex gave anod but didn't fully take Syd's words to heart.

-7:00 am-
"Akira, get up!" Grandpa Fuji yelled, it wasn't necessary though because he was three feet from him.
Akira moaned. "Five more minutes." he said groggily rolling over and pull his blanket over his head. Grandpa Fuji narrowed his eyes, a light went across them and then sparkled. He had an idea.
Grandpa Fuji grabbed his blanket and pulled it off. "Raise and shine, little one." He laughed as Akira sat up giving his grandpa the "I was to excited to sleep and you woke me up" look. "It's your first day of Pokemon School. Get ready."
His grandpa's words echoed in his head. Akira rolled off his bed and went in the bathroom.
-7:20 am-
"Have a good day." Grandpa Fuji cheered waving a flag that had a poke ball on it. Akira nodded, "See you later, papa." Akira walked off toward the school that looked more like a tower.
Akira stood in front of the school and looked at the building. This place was creepier than the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. He was a little scared, but he tried to hide it. He took a couple of deep breaths. "One step at a time." he thought.
"Squirtle." Squirtle tugged on his pants. Squirtle was frighten too, he was standing behind Akira leeched onto his leg. "Me too, buddy."
He walked into the building as Squirtle climbed up onto his head. He wasn't sure where to go. He looked to the right and then the left.
"Squirtle, squirtle." his Squirtle pointed at a sign and tapped Akira on the head so he would look.
"Students, please go to the cafeteria."
Akira nodded and walked to the cafeteria. He got lost a couple of times but managed his way around. He sat down and Squirtle jumped down on to Akira's lap.

Mana Phantom - Rock Angel Extrodanaire. Self proclaimed idol, her first day of school, she was nervous, excited and already plotting to be the best. Her brunette hair was pulled up as best she could manage, small butterfly clips adorned her hair, and her green eyes sparkled in confidence.
In the second floor hallway, she ran into a little boy and his squirtle. Her eevees were contently sleeping in their pokeballs, and her plastic angel wings seemed to glimmer in the hallway's lights. "You lookin' fer the cafeterium?" she asked looking to Akira. "It's just this way." Mana knew, because unlike the other students, she had been living there for the last month. Hazards of having a daddy who was a teacher.

Akira looked up at the little girl. "Yeah, I am." he said standing up. His pokemon jumped onto his head. "Could you show me?" he asked slightly distracted by her shiny wings and her butterfly clip. "Squirtle." his Squirtle was holding up a peace sign.
He wondered who this girl was and what pokemon she had. He was too shy to asked her though. She was very energetic. "I'm Akira." he introduced himself after hearing his mom's voice in his head telling him that "you always introduce yourself to a girl."

"Kari, Kari, wake up."
She groaned slightly, shifting in her bed before one eye slid open to take in her grinning brother.
"Dude, it's time to get ready for Pokemon school." Karo said, tugging the blankets off his sleepy sister. Kari complained a little, pulling back at the blankets as she felt the familiar morning chill sweep through her body. But eventually - and rather reluctantly - she got up to follow her brother into the bathroom.
Before she left her room though, her eyes caught the sight of their two Eevees sleepily blinking their eyes.
"Karo got to you guys too?" She whispered to them, casting them a sympathetic glance. They softly mewed in response.
Twenty minutes later and they were already in the car on their way to the Pokemon Academy. Kari's Eevee was snuggled against her owner's chest while Karo's Eevee was perched onto the brother's head.
"You guys will be good, ok?" Their mom said, turning around to send a look directly at Karo. Kari giggled and her Eevee called out happily. Karo nodded. They soon saw the top of the large building that would become their home for the next little while. They gazed at it in awe until they stopped and they slowly got out.
After waving to their parents, they turned to the building and head inside, Kari remaining close to Karo in case something happened.
"Gosh, this is going to be so much fun, Kari."

The rain beating against the dormitory window did little to soothe Samantha's nerves as she folded the final sheet in the dormitory, placing it gently at the end of the bed before looking over the room for anything that might be out of place.
'In a little while, these rooms will fill with children who will be ready to learn, eager to train and grow strong enough to go and challenge the elite four...' She thought as a nervous chill shot up her spine, quickly turning and leaving the room and heading to the cafeteria.
When the school had first been brought up, it had been nothing more then a musing, something that could have easily faded into nothingness. But that musing had quickly grown into reality when they had purchased the building and spent five months renovating it to suit their needs. Laboring alongside their Pokemon, they had crafted their school, ordered supplies to sustain the children and their Pokemon, and here was opening day...
And Sam had the jitters. A million questions pecked at her mind and made her triple check everything from food to the battling areas for anything that could possibly be wrong, and despite finding nothing, she couldn't help but find herself running through everything in her mind once again.
'What if the kids don't come? what if they get hurt? did we order enough Pokemon food? How many berries did we need again?..' She bit her lower lip as she turned the corner that lead to the cafeteria and shook her head. She knew she had to lighten up. She had made sure that everything had been in order, and if she had slipped up that Alex or Syd would catch it.
She pushed the double doors open and stepped into the rather spacious cafeteria, her eyes quickly landing on the trio that sat not too far from her. Sam's eyes widened as she watched Syd dance about, his energy and enthusiasm very apparent in contrast to Morty's quiet approval. Her eyes landed on Alex and instantaneously, she felt a soft smile cross her features.
She quickly closed the gap between them, Bidding Syd and Morty A warm "Good morning", to which Morty gave a small smile and a wave as her boots clicked across the linoleum floor.

Mana turned to see Karo and Kari. It was pretty cool to see so many people! She had been practically alone, as not a lot of kids her age were there for the last fivemonths. So it was a nice change to see people! Not that she didn't count adults as people. Sometimes they just didn't listen so well. Mana waved to the new kids. Being the kind idol that she was, she smiled. "Hello!" she greeted, "I'm Mana and this is Akira!" Of course, she was not the oldest, but she was the most familar. At least in her mind. So she had no problem playing hostess.
Some children were just made for the center of attention, and while Mana had not been born like that; how would you turn out being raised by a rockstar?
"Morning SUNSHINE!" Syd greeted. He meant it too, as Sam's smile was like ray's up light to the silent Alex. It was easy for Syd to tell that Sam brought the sunshine needed to get Alex through the day. It was going to be tough, and everything else aside, he knew Alex would never say it.
Alex's eyes lightened and he stood as Sam walked towards him. He met her half the distance and hugged her. While still in the embrace he whispered. "I'm nervous." He pushed her dark hair from her eyes and let go, checking her up and down.
"Sleep well?" he then asked, starting morning conversation for the few minutes they had before the place was over run by children.

Usually Silvery let her pokemon out of their pokeballs all the time if possible but it was raining that morning so she kept tem in their pokeballs until she arrived at school. Once inside the building she threw two red and white pokeballs one with a tocker of an Articuno flying and the other with another Articuno sticker sitting in an icy nest. From each pokeball came a different pokemon, a little Pichu and young Charmander.
Charmander looked as energetic as his trainer while Pichu seemed to be a little shy. The little yellow pokemon looked at bit frightened at finding herself in an unfamiliar place. “Pichu!” She lifted her little paws towards Silvery as if saying she wanted to be carried.
“It’s ok Pichu, this is the pokemon training school I told you about. It’ll be fun!” Silvery was as cheerful and energetic a ever. She picked up her Pichu and extended her hand towards her Charmander.
He took his trainers had and nodded “Char!” It looked like he was very eager to participate in all sorts of pokemon activities. He had been looking forward to this as much as his trainer.
“Right, let’s go!” Silvery said. “We’re supposed to go to the cafeteria so our first mission will be to find it fast before we’re late.”

Mana must;ve had radar for new kids. Becuase almost immediately after introducing herself to Karo and Kari she spotted another girl. Or, perhaps it was that people were naturally attracted to her greatness. Either way, her smile widened. She glanced at the Charmander and Pichu.
"Hey new girl!" she chirped, "I'm Mana. This is Akira and......eummmmmm." She looked at the two eevee trainers. She didn't know their names yet. She scrunched her little nose at not knowing everything like she thought she should. "Yoo're all looking for the cafeterium, ne?" She pointed to the large darges just alittle down the hall. "It's there. 'Cept, we can't go in yet."

Sam reached out and grasped Alex's hand as a small blush colored her cheeks, Mouthing the words 'It will be ok' Before giving his hand a comforting squeeze. Already she could hear Mana's voice echoing down the hall and into her ears, Obviously introducing herself and leading the other kids to the cafeteria.
"I slept very well, thank you. You guys ready for today?" She called, taking a small step to the side to look at Morty and Syd while keeping Alexanders hands entangled with her own.
'I hope their ready... cause I don't think I am' she thought as she swallowed past the growing lump in her throat. Deep inside her mind, she scolded herself for being so nervous, especially since she wasn't the only one. She took a second to steel herself as the sounds of little feet clattering down the all seemed to grow closer.

Alex nodded, those were just the words he needed to hear...read. If Sam said it, it must be true. Well, true enough. "Im glad to hear that." Alex replied simply. Alex gave a deep breath and half shook his head. He could handle pokemon, spotlight, trainers, fangirls, Lance and Syd. But children. Children were a league all of their own, and he hadn't let that sink in until now.
"Of course!" Syd chirped. He gave a grin, "Always am, love! Always am. Besides with two hot shots like you here. What could go wrong?"
Alex looked at Syd with piqued curiosty. Who in their right mind would say such a jinxing thing?
"That's right." Syd continued, "Nothin'."
Morty chuckled and gave a nod to Syd's enthusiam. "Mr. Phantom is right. There is no one better to do this than you guys."
A grimce raced across Syd's face. "Morty!" he whined. "You're older than I am."
The two started arguing about how it was out of respect. Syd's retort being then Morty must be a grampa as he was at least five years older than himself. Afterall in Syd's mind he was young and beautiful, forever. Morty, had not intended to offend the bassist, and was trying desperately to apologize, but was failing horribly.
Outside the cafeteria where Mana and the other students stood, more children flocked. A total of thirty. Not bad for their first run, but still more than they were used to dealing with on a daily basis. Still Mana ignored the faces of children except those she had introduced herself too.

"I'm Karo, and this is my sister Kari." The male said, grinning at Mana. Kari, upon seeing the other people's Pokemon, hid behind her brother.
"Hi." She said shyly from behind her brother's back, a small smile curving the ends of her lips.
"Get over it, Kari." Karo complained loudly, "You're gonna be surrounded by Pokemon for a long time now." He turned back to Akira and Mana. "Sorry 'bout that - my sister's not really into Pokemon."
Kari frowned in response, but didn't deny it. Karo's Eevee jumped down from his head and into Kari's arms, mewing happily.

"Nice ta meet ya!" Mana chirped. She leaned to look at Kari. "It's okay. Ya know? There are lots a ways we can be with Pokemon." She gave a nod, seeming much more informed. "Like Pokemon contests, and watching and photography. If it's the battles that scare ya."
Mana smiled, "I gots Eevee too!" Maybe that would help break the ice with Kari, or maybe make her feel a little more welcome. But Mana didn't remove them from their pokeballs. She brushed her bangs from her face and looked at several of the other students. She was dressed quite uniquely compared to everyone else. She gave a shrug. "Let's all be friends!"

"Charmander!" Charmander looked energetic and eager to begin training and meeting other pokemon.
"Pichu!" Pichu however looked a bit shy and hid behind Silvery. Her two pokemon were quite different in personality.
"Pichu, Charmander, we need to find the cafeteria right away!"

Mana heard a 'Pichu, Charmander, we need to find the cafeteria right away!' She waved, "Hey! It's over here!" still, she hadn't let her pokemon out. She wondered how much longer it would be until they could go in. But she knew better than to rush Alex and her father.
She had half an imagining of the two quarreling, and she didn't want everyone to see them like that. In fact, she'd hold everyone out there ALL day if she had too. Plus Sam was there, and she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Mana had been just as much part of the construction team as anyone else. Telling them things she'd like to see and things she thought other students would like.

Silvery heard someone call 'Hey it's over here!' and looked at way right away. "Thanks!" she rushed towards the one who had called her followed by her pokemon. "Hello!" She was certainly cheerful and not really shy.
Her Pichu however was shy and easily frigthened. He waved his little arms around until the trainer picked him up. Pichu was usually carried by Silvery or walked alongside his 'big brother' Charmander holding his paw to feel safe.
"These are my Pokemon Charmander and Pichu. I want to give them nicknames sometime before I graduate but they haven't thought about what they want to be called" She wanted to let them choose. how they would manage to communicate their choice that was another question. If they didn't somehow let her know that they knew of a name they wanted other than the name of their species then Silvery would start suggesting names and see their reactions to them.

Listening to the bassist and the young gym leader argue over the issues of eternal youth and beauty, Samantha let her hand entwine itself with Alex's, her heart racing all the more as she heard the clattering outside the cafeteria grow and grow until it was clear that the children had indeed all arrived. For a moment, Panic sprung up in her deep blue eyes, and they cast themselves on Alexander as if he would be ready and waiting to bolt out the door with her, But his face displayed a calm expectance despite his own nervousness.
'I need to stop worrying... This is a happy day, Something we have all been looking forward to...'
She took a deep breath and squeezed his hand once more to get his attention.
"The kids seem to be all here. I think Its time we let them in." She released his hand and crossed the distance between them and the door far too fast, her hand resting on the silver latch before casting her eyes back to recive the final look of approval.
'Please dont let me screw up..."

"Pichu" the little electric pokemon said softly. Crowds made him a little nervous.
Charmander however seemed fine. He liked it when there were lots of people gathered because that meant more trainers and more trainers meant more pokemon. "Char!" He was clearly exited and looking forward to some battles and training.
Silvery looked towards the cafeteria doors. "It must almost be time."

"H-Hi Silvery." Kari said nervously, ducking behind her brother more, glancing at the Pichu and Charmander hanging around the other girl.
"Ya, my sister's never been too fond of these Pokemon. I don't know why though." Karo said, grinning at Mana. "But hey," He started, turning to Kari, "Like she said, you could always watch or something."
"I guess so..." Kari trailed off, lips curving slightly despite that fact that the thought of watching her brother from the side didn't seem like a lot of fun at all.

"Hello!" Silvery cheerfully said.
"Really? I've never heard about anyone not liking pokémon, though my Pichu is a little afraid of most humans except me but Charmander is very social" Well the fire pokémon certainly wasn't shy that was for sure.
"Watching is ok, maybe you can join in later when you feel like it. It'll be so much fun that when you see everyone playing with their pokémon you'll want to join in for sure!"
